Btw, the subs are a bit wonky until about the 9 min mark cause the subs they used aren't on the actual footage. It's on the player. Should be fixed after that, I just had to refresh when I noticed it.

Edit: I’m at the point of the video where you got the challenge LMAO. I should have waited but I will leave it. I’m commenting before finishing the video so I don’t know if you have noticed or not, but they aren’t copying all the choreography. Almost all the choreography is their own, except for like a little part that they had to copy from the other group. Each group will have that part of the choreography that might be 30 seconds, in the style of the crew in their own choreography, that’s the meaning behind the mission. Granted, it’s not my fav mission from SWF but still, it was cool.

Now I want him to watch Street Dance of China too, it’s really educated lmao. But it has 4 seasons, 12 ep each and it’s long. And I also realized that some judges/team leaders in that show are from SM too or used to be in SM, like Lay, Tao, Han Geng, Henry. So I would be so happy if Jeff reacts to it, but there are a lot of other shows that people recommended :((

At the time this ep broadcasted, WANT’s Rozalin comment: “I haven’t seen one B-girl who is good at dancing” made so many people in the Korean breakdance community, especially B-girls upset. Her comment attacked not only Yeri, a top B-girl in Korea, but also a whole community. So Yeri posted on instagram: “No matter what people say, Korean B-girls are the coolest. The people who went through countless thorny roads”. Some people said that Rozalin was evil-edited, still, if she didn’t say it, how could they add that in? I personally think that her comment was unneccesary, with or without the context. She might just want to throw some spicy words at that moment, but it’s definitely too overboarded. About the rules and judging criteria, I agree. It’s frustrating to watch because of that, what really keeps me staying with the show is the dancers. Anw, next mission is my favourite 💗

if you want a more static version, they have it on mnet yt channel. maybe, you can watch it there in the future episodes.

It seems that they only judge based on their preferences at the moment. No criteria are followed every time they judge.

I think with the "lack of details" with La Cgica, i think they meant the detail in the choreo,, at times they weren't synchronized. I feel like, the reason why they didn't get a dancer to judge on this is because,, i think no one wants to judge them,, i mean,, these groups are some of the best and the seniors... i felt like no one wants to judge them.

i didnt watch swf before i started this with you and im still dont understand what part did community so angry on judges like there was some comments from taeyong that felt a lil bit off but in other aspects its still good and if some viewers wanna like super professional comments go watch championship theres kinda things all over everywhere remember this is still variety show and i agree with all your comments and agree with judges that wayb should be one eliminated as i saw so far they are the weakest team imo this round felt very messy theres no enough preparation for script and ygx choosing who should battled this was also kinda off waiting for another episode i heard that next round is very good

oh shittt ya I can see that happening. the only way that would be edited is if there was something after that like "I haven't seen one b-girl who is good at dancing.. in my city, or in my area, or in my studio." she probably also wasn't fully comprehending the gravity of that sentence at that moment.

ya I wish the static versions were in the broadcast tho. or like if not static, at least edited in a way where you can see the choreo all throughout. cause I need to base off my thoughts on what everyone else is seeing as not many would actually go to yt to rewatch this.

I think an underground top male dancer in Korea or a top choreographer in the states that can speak Korean would've been amazing. there's budget for it if they can get the likes of BoA.

As you continue to watch the show you'll see why many people have issues with the judging on this show. It's so ambiguous and often times I cant follow what they're saying. You will definitely enjoy the next battles tho it gets a lot more intense from here.

I think that for the competition, they have to be clear about the mission rules and judgement points according to the rule. For MNET, all are not clear. So forget about the rule and just enjoy the performances. All dancers were doing their best on the show.

i honestly do not understand how that judge could say that lachica's choreo lacked details. starting from the choice of outfit which was one additional detail that actually mattered in the choreo. but aside from that they added so many elements, from different genres, to levels, to formation. they were so synchronized and kept energy all throughout the performance. this is not to say that holy bang's choreo didn't, of course. they did a genre that's very different but I don't see such a difference between the two groups that would make me say something like "lachica lacked detail". like .. were we seeing the same performance?

I feel like Wayb is more as a hiphop group and they’re weak at battles. I don’t understand why Mnet is forcing to to a battle for the elimination. They have their own styles.

honestly I was rooting for YGX to win and they're one of my favs but I just felt it was a bit irresponsible of YGX to use b-girl moves in their choreo knowing fully well those girls would have a hard time copying it. I get that it's their strategy and it's smart but after seeing how WANT injured themselves, I can't help but feel sort of angry. Like you said, if they managed to injure themselves extensively and not be able to dance, it wouldn't have been worth it. maybe someone can comment more insight?

What I thought is that the challenge is who can make a better show and choreography of the song choice and an added challenge is a portion of it is copied choreo of the other group that would seamlessly be a part of their choreo or do better.

Yeah after a few eps I decided that this show...should just watch it to enjoy the crews and the great stuff they're showing every week and ignore mostly the judging and stuff. I don't think Mnet ever focused on making this a show that's focused on the actual dancing as much as making a "cool" show featuring dancers and then creating drama as usual. So the fair or professional judging etc wasn't ever the top of the list. Like a few others mentioned, if we're looking for a show where you get a full body view of the dance and more serious judging, then street dance of china is probably a better option. This episode was quite meh for me as they didn't show much of the process of the crews arriving at the final choreo, like you said the judging criteria was unclear. The next episode is much better :)

some of WANT's crew members are super flexible, i feel like they could have lowkey incorporated some flexibility tricks to their choreo instead of fully copying the b-girl dance moves. they could have used that as their strategy considering they managed to modify ygx's choreo 😅

Hey Jeff, if you'd like to watch or react to a show that focuses on street dance more than the drama I highly recommend Street Dance of China 4 (although the episodes are quite long). PLUS Street Dance of China invited actual professional dancers from all over the world like US, France, Japan, Vietnam, Switzerland including some of the veterans so when I started watching it I can't help but compare it to SWF and SWF suddenly became like child's play lol. The freestyle battles and routine battles are really on another level and I think you'd love it. All of the episodes are available on Youtube for free with english subs

Haha freeze is easy to copy once you practice a couple of times. I stop learning break dancing when I almost break my wrist and I already have a fractured leg so no more injuries. It's traumatic hehe

YGX knew better the power of idol because they have been with idols... Thing is, YGX dancers are the dancers of every YGA.. of course, YG family will support them. YGX is not just dancers, they're considered as artists by the fans of YGA.

Mnet always love drama. Chaeyeon has been tortured many times on survival shows since the disband. They use her montage crying from time to time and it's just sad.

YGX Lachica WayB & Want are working mostly with idols so they surely know what is catchy and what idols like more.

This challenge made me lose all my sympathy for ygx. I get that its a strategy but as a dancer myself i got upset with the exact same thing you and others have said: they as dancers should know bd can cause severe accidents that can end your whole career, if you're not trained. it's nothing you learn in a day or a month. yeri surely didn't become an Olympic in 2 weeks, and as a professional shouldn't she be proud that not everyone can bd instead of stating it can be done in a copy challenge? In my eyes as a dancer of 12 years it made ygx look weak too. Like Leejung said, she wanted want to be unable to copy the choreo, well if you are really that good of a choreographer... then you should have been able to create an outstanding skillful choreo without those hazards. tricks add to a performance, they don't define a dancer, overall skill does. the skill asked for in swf is not bd at all. so i couldn't smile at all when they won. (also the talk about chaeyeon being famous when they are literally under yg and have yg stans worshipping the ground they walk on... what a load of bs honestly)

I know I am a little late with watching the show and everything, but honestly YGX kinda made me mad. I have no background or experience in dancing, but why would they make the breakdancing the part WANT had to copy???? Like no one can learn that in 2 weeks and I felt like it was so petty of them to give them something that they can't do. Idk. It left a bad taste in my mouth and my views of YGX went down drastically. Also that girl in WANT was getting injured for nothing because the challenge wasn't even made a factor in the judging or performance....so what was the challenge for exactly??? Cause they didn't get points for it. Like ugh that really bothered me. Anyways Gabee and Lip J are my favs so far (I was side eyeing Gabee for that afro wig though...) But I really like Gabee's personality and she stands out quite a bit. She actually reminds me of myself so maybe that's why I gravitate towards her the most.

I'm laugh so much when you said the man next to Jessi is her manager. It's PSY. Do you know him, he the singer of Gangnam Style. I also find this challenge is so pointless. Why make the challenge but not include it in the evaluation section. Yes this mission was uploaded before the show start. Mnet didn't announce anything and just upload it

yeah i get what u mean with the copy challenge but i guess the main mission is still 4 queen of kpop, so i think they need to make more precise rule and stuff. The explaination of rule is a bit bleh and the challenge should have it's own point too.
