I changed my top 3 after watching again. Ikon still remains my number 1 but The Boyz and BtoB snuck in and took my second and third spot. If the rumor for the 6th spot is true I'm not anxious about it surprisingly. I think it might work in their favor to invigorate fans to vote and stream. So I'm hoping the group shows out for the next round.

Too bad hyunjin wont be there for the next episodes ... also BTOB’s Peniel mentioned on his Podcast that groups are not allowed to interact behind the scenes since mnet are afraid they would spoil their performances to each other

I love TBZ, but I do believe that they are less known globally compared to SKZ and iKon but I do hope they aren't last but at this point, idk what's going to happen. I am rooting for them all but considering how the ranking for 3-5th places went, it could be unexpected. I am enjoying the interactions between the idols so I'm excited for the next performances!! They all look amazing so here's to great performances !

Really sad for hyunjin. This show was so perfect for him and because of this issue, he can't. I hope and im sure skz will still be able to bring everything they got despite of this. Can't wait for the next episode.

Jeff I really really want to you to react to more SF9!! Please please. Also Taeyang has a bunch of dance covers on youtube. Would love for you to react to them. Especially his cover of Tobias Ellehammer Burn it up.

i think ranking is the like this: 1. stray kids 2. the boyz 6. ikon because i think the way they was sitting its probably by ranking in preview

In my opinion, I think The Boys came last because a lot of people were probably like "They won RTK so a lot of people will vote for them so let's vote for other groups." I'm not sure but from their reactions, it seems like the most plausible outcome.

SF9 also released their dance practice on their personal yt so you should be able to find it there.

The first episode doesn't reduce my concern that this is gonna be kinda similar to RTK where it focuses more on 'performance' as in dance and tricks and less about the whole package of dance, singing and rap. I want to see more on their singing and rap in the next stages, I want to see Bobby gone wild and Eunkwang shows how far his vocal range can go. NO lipsync please mnet.

I have no idea who will be 6th.. all three groups are powerful in a very different area. And I am so scared to know.. Thursday need to come fast!!!!

When I first watched your reaction vids, I noticed it too, you have similar facial features with Han. Hehe. And yes, it’s scuks they can’t show much of Hyunjin (his reactions, closeups). I bet if there’s no issue at all, he’ll be given enough screentime. Also, I’ve noticed SKZ reactions/closeup were mostly pixelated and panned. So, I guess they have to zoom in to cut Hyunjin out. I can’t wait for the next episode and been dying to know who ranked 6th. Whoever got the first and second place between the three groups deserved it. I am more worried for the 6th place cause they all deserve the support. I remember voting for everyone on whosfan. Per account you have one voting ticket that can cast three votes, different teams. Since I liked everyone I voted them through, just have my ult more votes though. But I’m not leaving anyone behind.

I'm hoping for stages like Queendom where they mix and match across groups as well, I relaly want to see these guys showing off their talents more especially because every single group has those standout rap/vocal talents as well in addition to being able to deliver a killer performance. High hopes for the future rounds!

so the belts for in-ear packs do exist and many groups actually use them (basically any live performance on any show), but for some reason not always and it seems like even those belts are not 100% effective you've seen packs fall out on the unit and pdx101, too. anyway the amount of performances they've done and we've seen everyone probably experienced this and the question is how fast and smoothly they can grab and fix it

I think The Boyz might be last and it’s unfortunate because I had them at second place 🥺🥺 . But in this case Ikon and Stray Kids have more fans. I sooo can’t wait for the next week, I think this whole competition is going to be epic and remembered for ages ❤️

BTOB did not actually debut as a " "ballad" type of group. It was not the initial plan for the group but even from their rookie days their vocalists were always a stand out and so when they tried the ballad concept once, they found that it actually suited the group and that's when the general public recognized them more. So the company decided to give them more vocally-centric songs (not specifically ballads tho.). They actually mentioned before that they sometimes miss to dance like they used to during their early days, but they can't also deny that their current concept suits their group very well. 🥰 Nonetheless, BTOB surely can slay any concepts too! ❤ If we're actually talking about a group who really started as a vocal group then it would be TVXQ! ❤ They literally debuted as an acapella group! and with all 5 of them being main vocalists with different specialty! 😂🥰💪🏻 Although ofc as time goes by they all started to try out new concepts. And really tho, all of them are so good in dancing as well!! Hahaha really a legendary group!

Honestly I didn’t expect BtoB to rank that high since it’s voted by global fans but I guess I underestimated international Melodies. BtoB was ranked second among the participants and 3rd by global fans and they have one of the bigger Korean fandoms, I think BtoB will show us the power of the big sunbae. I heard some where that iKON ranked last but how? Everyone was blown away by their performance so how could they be last?

I feel like the ranking is unexpected cauz you need to vote for 3 different group per account and since multiple fandoms voted for the groups they thought wont have much global fans .. I feel like that what happened .. also I think everyone deserves to be ranked 1st every group was just too uniq in their own way

Im just glad this one doesnt have elimination. i'll be too anxious. My baby is the youngest so yeah 🤣🤣 Now i can enjoy. And excited to wait more good performances 🎉

I also think that iKON would be the 6th place based from the preview. 💔 As much as possible, I really don't want the rankings to bother me that much because I love all the groups here and I just want to enjoy this show but it's just sad to see the votings being done "strategically" rather than voting purely based on the performance aspect. On the 1st mission the fans were able to vote for 3 groups (1 vote each) so ofc those fans would vote for their idols and will not vote for the group who they think are a threat. It's understandable tho, it's just sad. 💔 Nonetheless, I think being in low ranking will make them be motivated more the next time so it's also good. I mean, they all did great as well so they're all deserving of their high rankings too. Looking forward for the next mission!! 🥰

They actually took out TVXQ Yunho parts from the show, that is why we don't see him a lot. I think it is a decision from both companies and MNET

I hate the editing when it comes to hyunjin as well😭 especially since we recently learned from kstays on Twitter the people that where sending hate to him said they didn't even know what he looked😭 like could you imagine sending hate to someone you don't even know.

I honestly think iKON goy 6th since they said it was shocking, and with iKON being expected to be the final king or the winner, it would be the biggest shock

I would love that. Right now except for BTOB, the others feel more like dance competition instead of idol group competition. I would love more diverse format.

iKON is concert group. They are best at engaging the audience and having fun on stage and you can see how much other groups enjoyed their performance. They performed on the closing of sport event and got the whole stadium sang their songs even though they weren’t fans. Unfortunately this isn’t translated well in Kingdom due to pandemic.

I'm not fan of this first vote because you can make as many who's fan accounts. So one person can vote a lot of times. Also to add to this first ranking I do think certain fandoms worked together to vote for each other and "weak" groups to block groups they thought were strong competition. If the rankings land the why folks think it does I think you know which ones did it.

Same, I think iKON would be 6th place and that's just sad. But for me, I think The Boyz will be on top and SKZ 2nd. And as an ATINY, I really hope ATEEZ would go higher in the next few eps.

i'm not ranking these because i loved them all and can't pick. i wish there wasn't a ranking at all but i get it :( i think ikon is last too, they did so good though!

Yeah i think iKON will end up in 6th place. I think other fandom decided not to vote iKON bcs the determination iKON have. They don't want iKON win this competition. They vote not based on the quality of performance. I'm multifan, but i think iKON is no.1 for me based on performance. There is something that iKON have when perform that can makes u hype while watching them. I hope we all can be wise to vote and judge by their skill. They all work hard not only your bias that working hard.

I personally loved all the performances and all the groups but in some way I don´t want TBZ to rank last, maybe because I´m following them since Road To Kingdom and although they all deserve the crown and I cheer for the six groups, deep inside of me I want TBZ to win. So, I´m literally crying even though I don´t know the result yet because they all are extremely good performers. Being multifandom SUCKS!

i know this will be an unpopular opinion, but i can understand why mnet would choose this editing w/r/t hyunjin. while international fans (from what i've seen) are very supporting of him and think he shouldn't have been put on hiatus, the korean public opinion is not so good for him. i think it's important to note the cultural difference in people's expectations of celebrities and their reputations - esp because agencies like jype market themselves as having idols with perfect/clean reputations that the public can trust. also i don't know if all international fans know how serious an issue school violence is in korea... (but like even in road to kingdom oneus did a performance entirely about school violence—it's been a big issue for a very long time.) keeping hyunjin in the show could definitely have done further damage to the program and to jype and stray kids' reputations, which could hurt stray kids' performance in the show and the type of press they get from participating.

I'm a little disappointed for the first performances . I feel that the vocals and raps were not good for most of them and they all do too much tricks for me. I hope we will see a little less tight performances next rounds. Because of those reasons I prefered btob and ikon performances. I'm so curious for next round it looks amazing :)

Personally, I'd prefer Ikon to place first. Simply put, their performance was clean. As someone who pays attention to lyrics, love songs with dark performance always cringey for me. And I see more and more rookie groups going for this dark concept with heavy performance. But for me it's like hearing "baby I love you", but then suddenly someone doing tumbling???? and why look so angry singing a love song???? But since this is a competition, people probably chose team with wow factor.

IMHO the challenge aim is to do a performance for 100 seconds and thats awfully short amount of time so you want to impress straightaway not wasting any second this is why doing the acrobatics excels in this format what you call the “wow factor” because it pulls your attention in an instant. I know it might not paint the whole story or the whole package but even a full song performance a 3 minute long or so still struggles to do it what more when you only have 100 secs so I applaud each ones attempt of different styles of performance on this challenge. However the performance that had it for me is The Boyz overall its just a perfect blend of hard attacking moves and stunts to soft graceful moves.

i think the unexpeted results (my ranking was very close to yours) comes from the type of voting Whosefan did, because every account had to vote for 3 groups (not ranking them, only picking them 3 out of 6). And I guess we all did the same; pick our fav and then the 2 we consider weeker or less challenging. I am Stay, and my other 2 votes went to BtoB and SF9, because I thought they woud have smaller fandoms, and if many thought the same way... they got lots of vots fromt Stays, Atinys and TheBs...

I hate the mindset of fans man, and this is why this show should not have had a second season because they always change everything into a competition and it's NOT about the talent anymore. It's become a pure popularity contest. I just wish they left fans votes out.

I agree with you about love songs being cringey with dark concepts (unless it's a tragedy) and for me that's part of why Miroh worked it's not a love song. It's about standing out in society (comparing a city to a jungle) and building yourself up despite being different.

I totally agree with this. As soon as there are fan votes involved it always becomes a popularity contest. I think they should only include the votes of the groups for each other. That might also not be 100% fair (those kind of shows are rarly fair anyway) but it's a lot better than fan votes...

I think it’s cool they let fans vote, but famdoms votes should count a lot less, maybe 20% of the total, so could help but not be decisive. That way would be more fair and really about talent and work.

It was JYPE and Hyunjin’s decision for him to go on hiatus, which means all idol activities including Kingdom must be suspended. Knetz don’t really care about the situation anymore, so I have a feeling this is also a mental health break for Hyunjin. In fact, a few antis claimed SKZ performed better without Hyunjin, even though he was with them the entire time in this episode. They don’t even know what he looks like, yet they’re hating for the sole purpose of just being a hater. It’s quite sad.

Yea because they had more fans before the show.... Let's not act like stray kids weren't given a huge show from top 3 company PRE DEBUT so talented or not, they have the upper hand from jump because be 100% honest here do you think stray kidz has the best vocalist or best dancer out of all the groups here? Because you are equating "fans" and "popularity" to having talent. And don't get me wrong I'm a stay through and through but looking at it objectively they did not have the best stage in this episode. And I don't think they should have won ESPECIALLY by such a large margin, and that's 100% on the fan voting which again is BS because this is a competition what you have previous to walking through those doors should mean nothing because we are basing it off of THESE performances.

watching this a lil bit late, but yeah i get what you say on the "do or die" mentality of performers. i am one as well and when I perform I really lose any sense of prudence ahahaha i just try to perform to the best of my abilities and ignore any issue, even physical pain if necessary.
