Fun Fact: The song Downpour by I.O.I is actually produced and co-written by Woozi 😭 This is the song they released before their disbandment.

Aww Jeff I feel you didn’t i told you episode 6 is the worst time to pause because its starting to get good and just wait for that I.O.I performance of Downpour composed by Woozi of Seventeen 😍. Well that can wait! On to Kingdom we go waiting patiently for the start of your reaction ☺️

Jupiter

I think maybe do ep 7 next week just to get over this round of competitions done cause after is eliminations again and you can wait since it wont be in the middle of a performance round and then do kingdom too if you can, this next ep is one of my fav produce eps in all of the produce seasons.

Beggar Yuchan

I agree also it would be a lot harder to remember things if he's gonna stop midway in the performance once he will continue reacting to produce since it'll be a pretty long time for him to get back to produce. It'll be much better to just pause on the eliminations since it's not as interesting as the performances really.

I hope you react to shinee keys I live alone

actually Daehwi at that time if I remember it correctly got not so good comments from knetz.. and Jung Sae Woon is kinda anticipated for the top 11 because 1. he came from a survival show previous 2. a lot of pd fans likes his voice and arrangements.. someone can correct me but this is what I gathered when I watched this show that time.

The ranking for PWF team actually made sense, since Daehwi received a huge amount of hates because of his "aggressive attitude" and "center controversy" in the previous episodes. His ranking also dropped a lot at that time. And about the rigged problem, I would like to mention that they did reveal all the trainees who were impacted by the vote manipulation during this season: - Hyunwoo (1st elimination). He was the one that Moonbook talked about in his lyrics - Baekho (final ranking). Sadly they didn't reveal his real ranking before the manipulation.

I was rooting for Hyunwoo and was sad he got eliminated. Thanks for sharing this info.

Layla123

Daehwi got a ton of hate at the time for sure - him being the first centre, the 'Avengers' business which painted him as very arrogant, and also for his visuals (which... come on people). Sewoon was well-known both because of his previous stint on Kpop Star, his friendship with Jaehwan, and coming from Starship + he's very cute and funny too. I love both of them and the way their whole team was painted here was a little heartbreaking (especially with Baekho and Ren too - they didn't even give Ren a mic during their team discussions....)

Layla123

Vocal doubling is actually a term that they were using - I've heard of it in the context of arranging a track or vocal processing, not necessarily with regard to a group of people simply harmonising with each other in general, but what Dongho was pointing out there was that only two people were supposed to harmonise at that part but they were adding another voice underneath to make it sound slightly 'thicker' in order to achieve the effect they were supposed to but which they weren't able to initially hit with just the two vocals. I'm glad they all worked it out back then. I skipped ahead to see the PWF performance quickly and I just need to say I am sad they did not show Minki (aka Nu'est Ren) going off on the side during the high note lol

I mean, Mingi literally had a little over 10 minutes of screen time throughout the whole show...

Omg i love how we have different topics in almost every eps i feel like learning new things with you every week!:D Jeff if you didn't know already, Chungha actually debuted through IOI first before she debuted as a soloist!!! That's why she is there as a Produce 101 senior! The Boyz hasn't debuted when this is going, Haknyeon was actually with them since the start! There's a mistrans when the trainer said "you don't look pleasing to the eyes ??" to Yongguk, i think i might have forgot what the trans exactly was but it was the one that you said was not a nice thing to say directly at his face, what she actually said was he doesn't stand out (bc he couldn't bring out his energy to the fullest due to his lack of confidence). I don't think there's a mistrans in the Playing With Fire team tho, the plot hole might get lost in the editing itself. I'm not siding with the PD101 but only the audiences present in the live performances who can take part in the votings held there which is only like hundreds of people. If these people's bias is not in the group who's performing, they tend to vote for the people who stands out to them the most in the performance itself, so it can be somehow "fairer" than the elimination rounds since they judge based on their performance at that time only.

eve_ss

BTW, the songs that the dance teams used was also sang/recorded by the members themselves. 🥰 (I guess to avoid copyrights?) I just hope they showed like small clips behind the recording, but I understand also since they have limited time and they should focus more on the dance aspect.

eve_ss

YO!!! next episode was so good!! But that's fine we can wait ☺️ I know that it's hard for you as well because that was such a cliffhanger! HAHA We understand so no pressure!

Just wanted to mention that Haknyeon got a lot of evil editing in these couple episodes cuz Mnet and Loen (Creker’s parent company) had a rly bad relationship at the time. Haknyeon has a slower learning curve (even in TBZ) and they only showed the parts where he was struggling to keep up with the rest of the group, but many of the staff members and trainees testified that he was staying up super late practicing over and over which they never showed in the show. Haknyeon got sooo much hate from Produce, even death threats and inappropriate/harassing comments towards his mother, who was managing a pig farm as a single mother since his father passed. People called him lazy and greedy while he just learns slower than most. It was a rly dark time but I’m glad he’s doing well in the boyz, I couldn’t see him anywhere else! :)

Jeff, Leeteuk (the stand in host) not only hosts a lot, but is the leader of Super Junior!

1. If it weren’t for this editing Haknyeon could’ve debuted in Wanna One. Even if he’s doing well now I’m sure that all the hate he received because of this editing affected him a lot. 2. Youngmin and Yongguk were such good kids during Produce and they were doing well even after Produce. If it weren’t for their wrong doings (DUI, pet abandonment) they could’ve hit bigger. Especially for Yongguk I’ve never imagined he would be so different from how he’s portrayed in Produce. 3. I don’t think the vote was rigged for Daehwi. People were nitpicking him so much bashing his appearance and saying his personality is problematic etc. Because of all the haters, people were even speculating that he will be the first center (of the theme song) who wouldn’t be in the final group.

Estherlynn Lubin

These votes were the live audience’s vote so it wasn’t rigged. He appealed more the the audience so they voted for him plus there was a lot of crap going on with Daehwi online.

Layla123

Commenting again because I love the Shape of You performance and it was actually shown at the very last (the stages weren't filmed in the order they were shown) and the fact that it got an encore from the audience (the only performance that did so) - that performance deserved it so much! I want to take this chance to spread the word that Taedong (who got 2nd in this) is actually going to be debuting in the next few weeks in the upcoming project group Omega X, which includes a bunch of other guys from groups like 1TEAM, 1THE9, Limitless, Snuper, Seven O'Clock, ENOI, and Spectrum - it'd be lovely if we could all check out their debut!

Would it be possible for you to react to episode 7 before you start kindom and then pause so at least you could finish this section of the show :( I think it would be better since the next episode will also have the next round of eliminations

Ana

This episode did hankyeon and dongho dirty, so much evil editing. REALLY so much. Hankyeon got sooooo much hate for this, dongho as well. They keep focusing on their faces, taking moments out of contexts

XSHINeeBAP

Yes please Jeff he showed his new house that he moved into 2 weeks ago only

Hi Jeff, I always loved your videos. I remember rewatching this season just for Youngmin, the one from Brand New with white sweater. I hope you can remember him too. Also, english subtitles including who’s singing are present for all the rap and vocal team. Lai Guanlin’s group has a melodic rap thus the lyrics are emphasized. I must say though, I knew no one prior watching this season so I believed, and still, Sewon deserved his place for Playing with Fire. Not rigged at all. He has a good ranking, and quite known. Since you knew couple of Produce boys beforehand and knew what they can do, what comes across to me differs to you. I hope you can watch Episode 7 to wrap up the second elimination, and not to stop in the middle of the performances. I’ll be here for your Kingdom reactions, fighting!

h.

dongho actually says doubling!

h.

how ironic that youngmin's line was "hey, i think im a bit drunk" 🤧

Doyoungismyult

It is doubling. That is a term lol. Also...Leeteuk is the Leader of Super Junior

Karina Kim

Please react to the next episode for produce 101 so you can complete this cycle of performances

Doyoungismyult

just so you know Jeff. Nuest wasn’t popular when they went on produce. That’s the whole reason they went on Produce so jonghyun (jr) didn’t gain those rap votes because of nuest. He gained them because he is a phenomenal performer ❤️

Tinker Think

waiting for the next episode <3

If there's something Mnet hasn't rigged, it's the voting for the few hundred members of the audience during these evaluations. The PWF ranking was actually accurate, and it was just coincidental that Sewoon and Baekho had a storyline together for that week. Sewoon's just naturally talented, and like many others have mentioned in this comments section, Daehwi's reputation was taking an extreme hit during that time for lots of ludicrous things that Knetz come up with. Jonghyun also deserved the votes from the Fear group because he was actually quite popular at the time, even without the NU'EST ties (they were not big yet in 2017). He just stood out more from Guanlin during the performance, and it'd be fair to say that the previous episodes definitely did Jonghyun's edit and reputation a lot of favors. With that said, this episode's editing was just very inconsistent. Portraying Jonghyun and Youngmin as saints while almost completely ruining Baekho's and Haknyeon's characters, like... this episode almost single-handedly knocked both of their reputations into the ground. They were still very popular, but... yeah. Voting manipulation re: Baekho aside, this episode did not do him any favors, and like many NU'EST fans have mentioned before, it's just horrible how he was highlighted so badly on the cutting room floor.

Will you continue reaction to produce?🥺

onyx.

when you finish this series, i'll tell you who got rigged out of the final group XD

Secretninja312

at 2:13:49 Moonbok said "Even if this is my last stage, I'll bring Hyunwoo's Dream with me." This line hits different watching this again and knowing that Hyunwoo, who ranked 61st in the first elimination, was actually the 1 trainee who's ranking was manipulated out during the elimination, so he was supposed to still be in the competition except he was pushed out by the Producers from some reason. Also wanted to add that the friendship between Moonbok and Hyunwoo from the Call my baby team was precious (Hyunwoo was the one that piggybacked Moonbok). After the show, Hyunwoo actually ended up joining Moonbok's company and they debuted together in a group called "Limitless" but unfortunately, the group never really took off and I believe they've disbanded. Also, I know there's a lot of talk about the entire show being manipulated and I know you've already finished the show but, not all questionable ranking was manipulated. In this season, only 2 trainee's ranking were revealed to have been switched, Hyunwoo's in the first elimination, and I'm sure you know who in the finale. But also, like you've noticed, how a trainee is edited on the show also played a huge part in their image and ranking. Mnet was truly evil to a lot of trainees and caused a lot of unnecessary drama

Secretninja312

You probably know this by now but Nu'est was practically unknown at the time they appeared on Produce101 and they had gotten a lot of hate for appearing because they are "veterans". It's through this show that people know who they are today. Their fanbase was so small at the time, it wasn't enough to sway rankings, so any votes they got on the show wasn't because they were part of Nu'est, they got those votes because they won people over. Jonghyun's #1 rank in Fear was earned through his rap not because of the Nu'est name.

Secretninja312

Lol coming back and rewatching a few months later. So just wanted to add about the whole "trying new things" in a competitive setting. I get where you're coming from and in a way I do agree with you. A person wanting to "try" something they haven't done before, in this kind of competition setting, often forces the extra burden of TEACHING someone on to the teammates, who at the end of the day, are also in competition and have their own survival to worry about. Like, I don't think there's anything wrong with doing a position that's not your usual to "show a new side of yourself" but it shouldn't be something you're going in blind with no experience. For example, 1:43:00, this performance you have Youngmin, who's position is rap and have Dongbin who's never really rapped. You also have Donghyun who's a vocalist but coming from a hiphop label known for their rappers, he has some rap training. Donghyun, I think is the perfect example of someone who chose a position that wasn't their strongest BUT, he had the skills to back it up and was able to show a different side of himself without being a total burden on the team. Dongbin on the other hand, threw himself in and had to be carried by the other 2 members. But on the bright side, I think because of this experience, he did end up becoming more of a rapper and I believe took on rap when he was on Produce X 101.

Ahaha i am so late joining your patreon and i feel sad when you said that my Ponyo (sewoon) was rigged. But again i got it since you probably knew daehwi, dongho, and minki first so you knew what their capable of. But Ponyo was drawing a lot attention that time too. He’s still active now and he’s songs are very pleasant for ears. Arriving here at the comment section i am happy many supported Sewoon. Thanks for the reaction
