20:15 the way TAEYONG mentioned that Jaehyun was their youngest at first 🥺🥰 Awww so nostalgic, SMRookies days Jaehyun as their first maknae 💚 I agree. Sungchan is definitely still on the adjustment period, which is understandable since he's still new to this. If you could watch the short clip CLASS recording session of Sungchan he's more nervous there, glad TY was there to helped him. Considering all of this, Sungchan still did great nonetheless ☺️ and I'm sure he will get better as time goes by and he's still young! Btw, that will be the last video to be uploaded on NCT daily. I'm sad 😢 Their new contents will be uploaded on the respective units channel and on NCT main channel. I hope you could still react to their past videos on NCT daily, if you still haven't yet or just if you have time. 🙏🏻💚

for light bulb maybe it is because I understand the lyrics but it felt different to me then the feel you explained. you said that it is chill, long drive and sunset but to me it felt like emotional rainy night so I didn't feel like Sungchan had to add any bounce to it because it would feel less raw and emotional

Also, just want to add, I'm sad that TY was not credited enough for "Lightbulb" (originally titled Swith Off). He wrote it when he was a trainee and intended the song to be for him and Doyoung. They also performed it on their pre debut (and with Kun at times before).It's a personal song to us and especially for him because he wrote the lyrics based on his past experiences but they made lots of changes on this version. (maybe that's why he's not credited on this?). I mean, I love this new version, they all did great, I just hoped that TY got the credit he deserves on this. That's all. Sorry for the long comment 😅

Switch off aka Lightbulb is one of the many songwriting masterpiece of Taeyong back when he was still a rookie. until now fans are still waiting for them to be released like Peace of Mind ( on youtube it's Piece of Mind for fans thought it was the title but later on TY said it was peace) and also the infamous Open the door, the song which was used when he was introduced as smrookies' rapper. Open the door also has a longer version with TY, Johnny, Ten and Yuta which was rapped in hangul, english and nihonggo. I recommend you check out rookies show performance on your own free time, there's lots of fancams on youtube just search smrookies show😊😊

I think each member really comes to life in different aspects of performing. Some are dance focuses, or singing, and some are more personality focused. So I wouldn't be worried about if one person is getting the short end. They might just excel in other areas.

jisungs voice actually started to mature around we go up era but it was most noticeable around boom era. it’s been really deep like that for a while now haha. and as for sungchans verse in light bulb, I think it was just supposed to be rapped that way. his and taeyongs verses are fairly different and have different flows. ofc taeyong has more experience with it but I think sungchan murdered his verse. he knew what he was doing.😌

I don't know if you've paid too much attention (i didn't until recently), but Taeyong and Mark do A LOT of ad-libs. Basically the entire background of We Go Up is just Mark ad-libbing. Taeyong once showed fans his process in a vlive and he basically just made a bunch of his random noises in the mic lol, just like you thought.

I think Sungchan has a tendency to drag his words, which is why he sounds rushed (as you pointed out for Misfit) and slightly off timing (as you pointed out in Lightbulb). I suspect its kinda natural to the way he speaks as well - its a bit like he is mumbling. A good contrast is Mark - he pronounces his words clearly in regular speech, which carries over to his rap. That said, I do think that this dragging of words that Sungchan does may suit certain types of rap verses and songs more than others e.g., in Misfit, the beats are clear and heavy so dragging your words may sound like you are trying to fit too many words in between beats and therefore sound very rushed. Lightbulb is a little more chill and his dragging of words is not so obvious, but he still needed to sound like he is in time so that the dragging is a stylistic choice instead of a mistake. I do think he will get better with experience - not that he should stop dragging his words, but being able to apply himself to different types of rap verses. Love your NCT reactions btw. Cheers!

Hey Jeff! im really enjoying the unit reactions! theres a program called "Somebody" and a second season "Somebody 2". its a dancing romance reality show(10 dancers living together for 1 month) that focus on the journey of dancers filming a couple music video with the person that they’re attracted to. It is a unique dance program that doesn’t focus on survival or competition.

Good days/bad days and ability aside, I feel like timeline has a lot to do with how well first recordings go? If they're done during busy periods you can kinda tell they had less time to prepare and train their vocals. Renjun and Haechan were recording during Ridin promos and I think that showed in how they struggled with those harder notes. Meanwhile Jungwoo got to do Dancin in the Rain during a lull in his schedule and he seemed way more prepared for his parts there.
