jaehyun can sing higher! he had sung haechans high note in the song “no longer” when haechan was on a break due to a leg injury !! he also has a song collab with d.ear called “try again” that idk if you’ve heard but its perfect... i’m not a vocal specialist but he sounds so? floaty?

TAEYONG is a PRO no doubt. If you'll watch their recording sessions from even before, the members usually and even their producers asked for his inputs whenever they record. 💚👏🏻 Also, I think you missed this one: https://youtu.be/WUa0WeX55Zc This was a small clip of recording session behind TY and Sungchan "Class" rap. Producer TY in the making!! ☺️ I love how they praise Jaehyun rapping skills here knowing that he's originally trained as a rapper during their trainee days. How time flies! He's now a great vocalist too 💚 If you want to here more of his vocals, I highly recommend STARLIGHT performance (duet with Taeyeon of Girls' Generation). Several songs in this album had changed the name in the final process, which were archived in the album credit pages. Drip drop is one of that. In the Faded in My Last Song uncut, you will hear the original lyrics through the guide as Faded in Las Vegas which was also the demo title of it.

It was mentioned before that Taeyong has more producer friends than idol friends (like outside of NCT ofc) if that made sense. I’m just imagining the amount of time Taeyong spent with these people to be that commanding and comfortable inside the booth.

Love watching them recording! You're right, Taeyong is just such a pro and the producers and members really like to hear his input. The uncut from the recording of the KBS Gayo rap stages was great, seeing him mentoring Sungchan and being there for Mark. I hope you'll watch it!

Jaehyun’s range is quite interesting. In the NeoZone album he actually hits the lowest note and the highest note (Day Dream falsetto) if I remember correctly. He probably has the widest range out of all the NCT members if taken into account his head voice and falsetto. Hence he always wins the high note battles. K-pop idols love to play this high note battle game called Annyeong Cleopatra. Here’s 127 playing it: https://youtu.be/yoASCZbyeGA As for chest voice, considering he’s a barritone and all the other main vocalists in NCT are tenors, high notes pose a bit of a challenge and are more often given to the likes of Taeil, but you’ll see next week when you check out the Volcano Uncut what Jaehyun can do. I think one impressive thing about him is how he has always kind of been forced to sing in a key that isn’t the most comfortable for him. When they debuted with Without U and he had to sing in a key more comfortable to Taeil and Doyoung, one could tell it was quite challenging. Jaehyun often talks about his will to further his vocal abilities and how he’s taking vocal lessons in his free time so seeing how he performed Without U at the NCT Resonance concert so comfortably I think proves that there has been major improvement.

Yay, another recording session reaction. Jaehyun is a baritone, that’s why you feel that his tone is rounder and a bit lower than Taeil, Haechan or Jungwoo (they’re all tenor. Jaehyun is the only baritone vocalist). Jaehyun range is A2 - D6, and his technique is one of the best in NCT (with Taeil and Doyoung). He can do high note in falsetto and whistle note quite easy, but not in head voice. I love Jaehyun’s mix voice a lot. He is one of the rare main vocalist in kpop who is a baritone. Most of main vocalist in kpop boy band are tenor since they need to do high notes.

With Sungchan in 90's love, if you'll watch their performances again, he did that last line of the second chorus so yes, he can hit it

whoever told you that was the way to pronounce Shotaro is WRONG. maybe you can find a clip of Yuta pronouncing his name so you hear the proper way. Americans tend to pronounce Japanese words very awkwardly because they kinda do it how they pronounce English words. I speak Spanish and its a lot more similar (vowel pronunciation etc and I lived with a Japanese girl so Im very familiar with how the language sounds and how it should be pronounced)

Like some other already mentioned Jaehyun has quite the range and is a well-rounded singer. Fun fact: he entered the company as a rapper and trained his first years alongside Taeyong! Not sure when exactly he switched more to the vocal side and joined Taeil and Doyoung, but Jaehyun always mentions how he's eager to improv his singing more and more. His smooth baritone voice with its warm tone is my favorite in NCT. Taeyong is a pro at the studio, and all the producers/engineers seem to respect him a lot! He's every involved in making of their (NCT and SuperM) songs and writes/composes his own songs in his free time. PS: You totally need to get on your Timeless reaction, the live version they have on their channel is breathtaking!

Taeyong has a lot of experience in the recording department, he was already recording things and composing during his trainee days, songs like mad city were composed during those times.

Taeyong spends a lot of his free time in the studio. You can see it in his24hr relay cam that 127 did a year ago. He'll be in there from late night until the sun comes up.

I love how you’re surprised every time the rappers hit a high note. Actually, again can’t say much from other companies, but in SM their rappers are also good singers. But since idol groups tend to stick to their positions being given the parts they’re directly trained for, it’s not very common to see them singing. They don’t have like those “belty” high notes like the main vocalists but they’re good singers too. Which is why I love listening to B-tracks cuz often this is where you can hear the rappers sing. Oh and also the Japanese tracks hahahaha.

jaehyun actually has the highest pitched scream in nct 127 LMAO they've played a few games where they go around and you have to this sentence (i forgot what it was), and it has to be one note higher than the person before you and jaehyun always wins these games! I'm sure he can go higher, but he is one of the rarer baritones in kpop, so his vocals are always in the lower range!
