OK these guys are just getting better and better! What did you guys think of THAT twist? And who's your favourite so far in the next challenge?

Includes: Full Episode Reaction (Uncut) 1hr 41 mins long.

PS. There's a slight audio delay (mine, not the show) in the middle section because the file is so big, but my longer commentaries are in sync. The actual whole show should be synced.

pentagon are shown more in the recording booth because Hui is a known producer in the industry, so i think a lot of people are interested in that side when it comes to pentagon since they're a group with many producers, songwriter and composers.

Do you know why I would rank tbzxoneus above onfxptg because I was disappointed that the highlight moves in their kill this love performance was highkey recycled moves from other performances... like the pulling back move was done in Verivery -PHOTO stage... the disappearing happened in The Boyz - Danger stage beside the jumping... I won't like the arrangment wasnt my fav too altho the vocal served.... for tbzxoneus stage there's a part that is a tribute to golden child when the 2 guys (ravn and sunwoo) was back stage on stairs and sunwoo couldn't go on stage with ravn but told ravn to go represent golden child rooting for others.... It was expected that Mnet will make a big twist that's why they made the points gap in the half round bigger than normal rounds, when 1st and 2nd round had less than 1000 points between ranks this half round had 2000 points between ranks, which caused the rank to go upside down. aside from being the boyz fan and think its unfair to take 2 1st win with one 3rd place down with 2 groups who didn't even consistently ranked high... But if you look at the groups who is about to get eliminated... oneus have a really tiny chance of surviving with this score system... while it lost a great gap of points... going back to normal points it will be really hard to cover it.... unless oneus ranked really high and one of TOO or verivery ranked really low.... anw it's hard seeing this happening and we might all have different opinion,.... BUT THIS IS MNET that's all I can say

jeffavenue

I see what you mean. Shows like this, have to do these twists because it wouldn’t be that much of a shakeup if The Boyz keep placing high. I don’t see any wrong in that if it was well deserved. But definitely, they’re trying to change things up because the ranking is too obvious. We’ll see in the next round.

Honestly for the collaboration it was difficult for me to choose the first place, it's played a lot between PTG X ONF and ONEUS x THE BOYZ because these performance are completely different but I end up choosing PTG x NFB in first place. I really liked the new arrangement, it was so different and I loved it even if I had a hard time to like the rap parts, it felt strange at first but now I really love it. What break Mt heart, it's that they received so much hate with this performance of Kill This Love especially on Twitter and its really hurts to see that. For the three performances, I would have put ONF on top, maybe I am a bit biased since ONF is one of my favorite groups, the fact that they put their song "Complete" with "It's Raining" Its came so good together. I'm proud of ONF, like we said "the Dark Horses" of the competition. They blew me away as usual. ONEUS is for me 2nd place, I really liked the concept of Romeo and Juliet which is one of my favorite plays, the arrangement was very good because it looks like the original song but with a touch of modernity and the rap is very well integrated but as a INSPIRIT (fan of INFINITE/ fact: INFINITE are from the same agency as Golden Child, they are their seniors) I just wanted to see one of the main part of the original choreography because it's legendary / iconic or maybe it's me who thinks it is because BE MINE this song means a lot to our fandom, it was their first win and if BE MINE didnt get first win they would have disband. A lot of people recommended INFINITE and I really recommend too, we call them "99.9% Synchronization", Hoya who was the main dancer (he didn't renew his contract so left the group but he is still in soll) did HIT THE STAGE and he had a Team in Dancing High (fact: Jisung's NCT were in his Team). Listening BE MINE made me so nostalgic. For TOO I will put them 3rd for now, unfortunately I didn't like this version that much, I can even point why, the concept was not my cup of tea, but they had fun we can feel it.

I definitely saw some resemblances between the kill this love stage and photo HOWEVER the arrangement and overall way they used the stage and different camera angles was amazing so I’m not bothered by that stage winning first place. I did think that the the boyzxoneus should have placed second though, the vocals and the rap were just 👌🏼 ( I really like slow lyrical rap) also the emotion behind their performance and the inclusivity ( even golden child!) of everyone on the show was very touching. I’m really worried for Oneus now. Although what I can take away from the show so far is that Oneus prefers stages that are a little more theatrically/vocally centric. Which I love personally but they just haven’t had enough “killer dance parts” to really leave a mark I think. Obviously ONF is no. 1 for me as far as the “your song” performances go so far. And don’t worry you’re not the only one who got “tingles” from that breathing part ( and I’m not even that into asmr 😀) As for the pausing. I liked this much much better. It feels more interactive as well since I can give full attention to what you’re saying and not have my attention being divided with the performance. Thank you for this content. The longer the video, the more effort that goes into syncing everything up. I know the struggles there ✊🏼 Anyways great job, I always love hearing your opinions. 😊

jeffavenue

Yes stan twitter can be so hateful sometimes. The arrangement was genius I think. There was no way they shouldve done it the way it was originally done. I’m glad ONF is continuing to climb up because that shows growth! I love TOO as well but I see what you mean!

Falco

thanks for your reaction. The pausing was much better!!

vannia

This week i actually waited for ur reaction to watch the entire episode haha i watched tbz x oneus collab stage and the tears were real, i agree with you that it was a risk to do a more vocal focused stage but in the end i think it was worth it for the message they delivered. I'm tired of waiting for tbz solo stage!! hahah but yeah this week ep will be another emotional one :( thank u as always for ur reaction!!

CactusDragon

I think they mostly show Pentagon recording-sessions because they're also known for producing for other groups (e.g. Wanna One - Energetic). I'm a multi but I have to say my priority in my heart is ONF atm XD Just because they reallyyyy needed more exposure, they started the show with ~80k YT subscribers (debut 2017) and now reached 100K subscr this week. So yes I'm super happy the collab stage with Penatgon was n1 (tried to ignore the hate and enjoy that moment and atm it's my fav performance overall on RTK, it's so hauntingly beautiful to me. But it's hard to compare the different stages TBZ/Oneus presented a beautiful honest/sentimental stage). But no matter how this show ends for ONF, gaining more attention is already all we fans wished for ^^ And the same for all the other groups, I'm enjoying these amazing stages every week and I'm starting to stan the grps I didn't before the show ^^ Btw personally I liked the way you paused after the performance to tell us your thoughts, thanks ^^

Falco

Also about the rap parts: in this show they hardly ever/if ever use the original rap. Instead they write their own lyrics, so understanding them would make some performances much more meaningful. As to why they are showing Pentagon in the recording booth is because they are well know for being a self-producing idol group. Hui has also composed (hit) songs for groups like wanna one and Shinhwa, and a lot of the other members compose too, especially Kino (who also choregraphs some of their dances) and Yuto.

I'm so proud of myself that we have the same ranking for now because it's the first time that happened hahaha... I loved this episode, all performances were amazing. I loved this version of Kill This Love better than the original and the original is already in my top 10 kpop songs so that speaks volume to how much I enjoyed this collaboration :). I can't wait for next week episode, I feel like The Boyz will do magic with VIXX's song and also gogobebe and Follow are such good song, I'm sooooo excited. But we'll all propably cry, really don't want to see anybody eliminated :c. Thank you for your reactions, I've so much fun watching them, I had reall bad day and this video made it much better.

I liked the reaction better the way you did it this week. Thanks--for the taking the time to react to these. I would rank the individual performances this week the same as you did. I liked the third round better because there was more variety to the performances. In the second round almost everyone did a dark dramatic performance--by the time I was done watching them, I couldn't remember who had done what because the overall feel was so similar. I ended up watching them all twice. As far as resemblances to other performances, the more stages you watch the more likely you are to see similarities (Oneus' individual performance had a stunt similar to PTG's Dr. Bebe). Since you said Hui's vocals were great and enjoyed this version of Kill This Love, I'd love it if you reacted to his solo version--his vocals at the end are amazing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1zCjjYLcGc

I can see why tbz and oneus's collab got last but for me personally it was one of my favorite performances of the whole show: sunwoo and leedo's rapping at the beginning was along the lines of "hey mom and dad, i'm doing fine" and a lot about the hardships they go through during their training period (the lyrics if u read them after r rly emotional). i almost cried in the fanchant part- idk it just seemed so REAL and so moving :( it also touched me how they included golden child's fanchant too! also as a deobi (tbz fan) the main dancer, q, talked in a vlive afterwards about how much fun he had performing this! he was the one who did the knee work in one of the solo parts and you could see how huge his smile was at 34:18 and it just hit me so hard, he said that it was the first time he's ever really had that much fun during a performance.. the fact they all had so much fun and showed that they were all in this together just hit me extra hard, idk why im soft omg but i do see how it didn't win, the other two definitely had more 'surprise' in the performance aspect! i applaud tbz and oneus though, their performance personally stood out to me alot i got chills through the whole thing i couldn't stop smiling (and the harmonies in the chorus too ohmagod) maybe that's just me cuz i love heroine lol thank u for saying what u said about their performance, i definitely agree :)

jeffavenue

Ooo I’m glad you were able to watch this for the first time with me! Haha! And yes that was quite emotional :( I loved it too! Can’t wait for next week!

Thank you so much for your hard work in reacting and also for your process in editing the videos, really grateful for that. Stay safe and healthy 😊

jeffavenue

Oh wow that’s so great for them! This show, aside from the competition itself, is really bringing attention to these groups which is amazing! Really liked their Kill This Love performance. Unfortunately, you can’t please everyone so good on you for just soaking in the moment!

jeffavenue

Ahh that makes sense. Now It’s too bad cause there are no subs for the rap parts. Will have to check YouTube then I guess!

jeffavenue

Aww thank you! I’m glad I can contribute a little bit of joy to your day! 😁😁 and I really liked this version of Kill This Love too! Would totally put on my playlist!

jeffavenue

Yeah I’ll have to check out that solo performance cause his vocal choices are just mind blowing! Glad My list so far is similar to some of you! Watch we’re all wrong at the end of it 😂😂

jeffavenue

Yeah I think if we’re basing it off competition level, surprises, tricks, etc, guess it wasn’t quite up to par. And what brought it up was the emotional aspect. Good point. But tbh, it would’ve been harder to rank 3 performances anyway cause there’s just 3. It’s trending that dark performances are always topping the ranks but I would love to see a bright concept do well too

tbh the group which will do the whole performance without backup dancers will win my heart because I just want to see more of the boys themselves, not the whole crowd of people. Sometimes it's even hard to recognise them among dancers (especially when they have not rather good costume decision like it was in pntgn&onf performance when they all wore white).

jeffavenue

True. I actually am surprised that some of these groups still use back up dancers when they have like 12 members. I think cause they aim for awards show like performances, I feel like they need the feel to go grander. Which is fine. But i think it can be achieved without extra dancers.

I really loved TOO's performance here it looked like they had so much fun choreographing it and it shows in their performance as well . Please look forward to more TOO songs in the future <3 I recommend you watch the survival show they went on before becoming TOO it's called to be world klass.

Being a hardcore Oneus fan and particularly liking the Romeo and Juliet story growing up in school I really admired how Oneus arranged their performance. If you know the story well enough and have a good objective eye you catch a lot of other nuances that they placed in the composition of the performance. (I am not used to this UI, so I posted this before it was ready) RAVN wrote his two rap verses and were not part of the original song by Infinite. "The ever-changing moonlight and the time I made a promise to eternity | This serenade alone spreads out to you in this darkness | My Juliet I hope I don't lose you forever; A rose in a fiery blaze | I'll wait for you at the same place underneath the window." "I would much rather die in hatred than live without your love | I wish we could become flowers when we meet again | I will not become the fool who was sacrificed by destiny again | Even if destiny separates us." Some other points: The sequence where the two members were raised by the backups and facing noe another and then falling back is a reference to the deaths of Tybalt and Mercucio. And then you have the flowers that Juliet holds. When RAVN was performing his first rap verse the flowers Juliet holds up are red, representing passionate love (Language of Flowers) but then when RAVN is on his knees and looking at the poison with Juliet behind him, the flowers are blue - a blue rose represents unreachable love.

I may be late, but I still think that this twist was perfectly scripted. Verivery and Pentagon showed before that cute concept or sentiments don't work on this show, and this was so disappointing to see how The Boyz are stepping back and dragging Oneus with them (I also have this feeling that the theme was suggested by the producers of the show). I don't hate the performance or the teams, it was great and encouraging, but not for the competition. (m in mnet still stands for "manipulating") sorry if my english is too bad

"It's raining" is my favorite ONF's performance *O* and their collab with Pentagon, when they performed "Kill this love" was soooooo awesome!

Anonymous

pretty sure they only show hui recording because he is the only member of the groups that do the arrangement and producing, others have outside people doing it.

Anonymous

Pentagon x ONF, The boyz x Oneus, and then TOO x Verivery is the order I would give it. They did a strong performance to 'ON', but that was all it really had in my opinion, strength. It all comes down to personal preference I guess but I felt that something was missing from that performance. Maybe complexity or dynamics because although it was really powerful it also felt sort of bland lol.

Just started watching RTK performances since there have been so many comparisons between RTK and KD...and this performance from Pentagon x ONF is by far my all-time favorite, so impressed with the level of artistry. They did an amazing job of re-arranging the song, the vocals are phenomenal, packed with emotion and the theatrics and choreo are visually captivating. This is how you add choreo to a slower song...I wish the groups who perform slower songs in KD would learn from this cause it would truly elevate their performances.

myjelly

i see where you're coming from i just personally disagree with the idea that the boyz are dragging oneus down with them ykno

Why its not playable?
