Hello friends!

Today we would like to talk a little more about innovation in the upcoming versions of LS - namely, the mechanics of the day schedule for the characters. Earlier the probability of meeting a particular character in certain locations was being calculated right at the moment when Gaston visited that location. For example, there was a certain chance, while visiting Belle's House, that she would be either absent or at home. If the second option appeared, then the following situations were being calculated in the game: what exactly she does: reading a book, taking care of a plant or... doing something interesting else ;) In addition, some obligatory events were reserved for definite quests, which were immediately activated when visiting the location.

But we have long wanted to make this system more interesting and complex. So we finally get down to this part of the game improvement, and since ver 0.93 we are gonna gradually add into LS the mechanics of schedule for all the characters. This means the chars will have their own schedule of work and leisure, as well as a number of needs that will affect where they are at the certain moment and what they are doing. In the morning there will be created a set of actions for each character that he "is going to" do this day. Also, this set will be affected by current events and chars settings. For example, in the Tavern now there will be no round-the-clock standing Jacques. In a day he will be replaced by Emma and via versa by Jacques again (yes-yes, you can talk to Emma in the Tavern now). And during his spare time the characters can be found around the town and even in some other places ^_^

Thus, the behavior of LS chars will become more predictable and adequate, the characters are gonna live their lives, and not "wake up" exclusively at the moment when Gaston visits their locations and activates the next quest trigger. Among other things, it provides an opportunity to keep statistics on the actions of chars, as well as to change "in real time" a number of parameters, depending on their actions and behavior. Of course, we're going to leave the possibility of instantly activating of some important events if necessary, but the whole system will become deeper and, in further may give some new and interesting situations to the player like accidental encounters of several characters, or opportunity to follow the "normal life" of the chars (staying away), etc. For example, it may be interesting to follow the "regular" Belle's day at the beginning and the changes in her schedule at different milestones of the game ;)

In general, we hope this innovation would improve some aspects of the game and make it more interesting to you. Full implementation of this mechanics is planned in version 0.95, but you'll see the changes already in LS 0.93.
