Kara

An incredible episode and a great reaction. This is gonna sound unbelievable, but next week's is my fav of the season lmao. The episode is laced with little details you catch on rewatch. I think the final shot of Carmy looking at the cannoli is the moment he decides to go stay with Michelle in New York, which leads to him working in restaurants, which leads to him getting a job in "the best restaurant in the world" w/ Joel McHale chef. So many things make more sense now that we know that Carmy, Natalie and Mikey (and Richie) grew up in this house dealing with Donna. All the actors killed it too, not a performer out of place. I love Stevie - so funny - but I think my fav is Michelle, who shows what it's like when you grow up in + around this chaos but manage to "escape" by moving to New York. Carmy chooses to "escape" but leaves Mikey and Natalie behind to deal with Donna, the restaurant and the chaos. Also shoutout to Pete who is literally just a corny but normal dude dating someone he loved with this insane chaos family dynamic lol.

It seems clear that the strength of the first season is what enabled them to cast so many A-list actors in this season. Most of them have appeared in only one episode, presumably due to budget considerations. So it was genius to put a bunch of them into a special double-length episode.
