Gilliam is one of my favorite directors, especially his streak from Time Bandits (1981, the movie prior to Brazil) through 12 Monkeys in 1995. Anything in that period is worth your time, in my opinion. Brazil is his masterpiece, though.

Time Bandits 1981, Brazil 1985 and Adventures of Baron Munchausen 1988 can be viewed as a trilogy as thay are about the "craziness of our awkwardly ordered society and the desire to escape it through whatever means possible" the first is through the eyes of a young man second a middle age man and third a old man
