I just started this game on PS5 too, I’m only maybe and hour or two ahead of you. Absolutely addicting! I suggest you look up tips on crafting/upgrading your armor, weapons & skills. The game does a poor job of explaining it imo.

Unfortunately, it's gonna be extremely hard to avoid spoilers if he goes looking for guides, especially with Ragnarok being a hot topic at the moment. I think it's best if people here just nudge him in the right direction, without saying too much of course.
