Thanks for the honest reaction! I just watched this for the first time along with you and have the same problems. I was also looking forward to Gwen's reaction when she finally found him and it ended up being quite weak in my opinion. She just stares blank faced and hugs him? That's it? Idk I think that moment could have been better. The entire ending kind of felt rushed now that I'm thinking of it. Also, the fact that the villain had basically no backstory at all was weird and unsatisfying. There was nothing to the black balloons or the black van and black phone. Just feels like there could have been a lot more there. This movie was solid from an entertainment standpoint. I also thought the young actors were really good. I don't know if this was a book before, but I think it could've been better as a novel with more room to develop characters and story. It kind of feels like when a movie adapts a novel with massive chunks taken out of the story. I enjoyed watching it though. Just didn't really amount to anything in the end. Thanks again!
