So yeah, never mind what an insane banger of a movie this was, but the budget was around 5 million I think? Five times that of the first movie. Obviously huge discrepancy between how far you can get with this kind of money in Indonesia, but still, this movie is nuts. Those movies are nuts. And yeah, Gareth Evans is the magic sauce, in case you were wondering - Gangs of London is every bit as entertaining as the Raid movies and has been recommended a bunch for a reason... you want cool choreography and an enticing plot? He got you covered. Still not necessarily as great as The Raid 2 - but let's face it, this is an unattainable goal. This movie was perfect, nothing felt out of place or hammy, even the car chase was gripping and had some great beats. Then you consider how well the soundtrack pulses along to the visuals and you've got easily one of the top five action movies in film history on your hands. It's kind of difficult to comprehend in one viewing how dope this flick is, very much its own thing.
