it's all canon and part of a massive universe so of course they expect you to have seen the movies and rely on that....they're the same but slightly altered for different universes. they can't recap whole movies and story arcs/characters in a 30 minute cartoon and who would want them to? if you don't know the characters 23 movies and 4 shows in well......that's not on them lol. it's like jumping into game of thrones or the walking dead in season 7 or something. think of the mcu as the longest running "series" haha
