Man what an ending to this episode! You called it right when Lamar got killed, that was the last straw for John and we definitely saw how the super soldier serum enhanced the worst parts of him. That line, “they weren’t even super soldiers” (after John was humiliated by the Dora Milaje) hits so hard and I think perfectly shows how broken John was and builds to that ending brutality.

This episode has my favorite opening and ending of any episode in the season. The opening with Bucky breaking down, the emotions pouring out of him as Ayo recites the words to see if the Winter Soldier programming is really out of him, and then when she says he is free and he weeps. So good. Sebastian Stan deserves an award for that scene. And then the ending with Walker standing there with the blood all over Cap's shield. The turn from a good guy trying to do the right thing to someone who snapped with the loss of his partner. His temperament was clearly the real reason he's not fit to be Cap.
