A lesser show would have jumped to the next game and maybe done some flashbacks but I love how they took the time to explore each characters motivations after the first game.

this is probably one of my favorite episodes because of how much it subverts our expectations and actually delves so deeply into our characters and their backstories. also, I'm pretty sure in the first episode they said: "those" who complete all six games so theoretically there could be more than one winner.
