So we're definitely exiting the "golden age" of sunny, and entering the "experimental phase" of sunny. I mean that in the best way possible lol. Sounds crass

Ah come on, that's not even fair. Everything after season 1 is the golden age of sunny. To this day I've never been let down by a sunny episode. Comparing it to other shows this show is the gold standard of continuity and quality, even after 14 seasons. Some stuff happens but I've never seen a show do better after such a long time on air (had to edit this quite a bit to prevent spoilers or leading on behalf of Brandon). Don't put a bad taste in his mouth about what's to come because it's all fantastic
