Just finished my very first month on Patreon, and I just want to start off by saying THANK YOU so much for all of your support both on here and on the channel, it means so much and I love interacting with you all and reading your messages/feedback.

With this being my first month I was definitely figuring a lot of things out as I went and I know I have a lot of room for growth in providing better content so I wanted to open it up for you all to give me any feedback on my Patreon that you'd like to. This could be things that you'd like added, things that you currently dislike (please be constructive and not too harsh haha), things you'd like to continue, really anything you think could make your experience as a Patreon member better as I want you all to be satisfied with your membership!

While I may not be able to implement certain things (like including movie/show non-blurred picture for the whole full length reactions for legal reasons) I would be grateful for any thoughts and feedback. Feel free to mention it in the comments of this post or you can message me directly as well.

I'll start things off with a few suggestions/ideas I've had already (you can let me know if you like these ideas):

-Live Movie/Show reaction (I can't decide whether I should do this as a Patreon-only event or just public on the channel)

-Bad movie reactions (me and potentially some of my friends watch some notoriously bad movies just for laughs)

Anyway, I'd love to hear any thoughts/suggestions/criticisms you all might have! Again, thank you so much for your support!

Not a fan of the bad movies idea personally.

The bad movies thing sounds FANTASTIC! If I may offer a slight tweak on it... "(me and potentially some of my friends watch some notoriously bad movies *while drinking alcohol* just for laughs)" Just a thought. ;-)

Bad movies would be fun but only if it was bad movies like “the room” instead of bad studio comedies or something.

Brandon, I love love love so good they are bad movies. One of the best, Ben and Arthur!

Good job so far Brandon. I really enjoy your commentary, you seem to have good knowledge on a lot of the technical aspects of film making. I hope that you can keep the focus on movies more than TV shows. Or if you can, stick to shorter TV shows like Chernobyl (enjoyed that one). There are many reaction channels doing TV and very few doing movies, and a show like Breaking Bad with 5 seasons will take a long time to get through. For anyone not interested in that show it's a lot of content that they will pass on. I'm not trying to talk you out of Breaking Bad, just something to think about. It might be a good idea to try different poll categories than just based on year of release. It might help to keep your movie selections more diverse. For example: movies with worldwide box office gross under $200M (there are websites where you can look that up like the-numbers.com). That way it's not always the biggest blockbusters or the most well known movies that get chosen every time. Your "bad movies" idea plays into this, too. And speaking of lesser known movies, there are two versions of 12 Angry Men: the original 1957 version and a 1997 remake. I've seen them both and they're both great, but if someone voted for the '57 and got the '97 (or the other way around) they might be disappointed.

I think You should check out some independent or short movies. For Example "Oats Studios" on YouTube. They have some amazing ideas and effects. Those movies usually take around 20-30 minutes and gives some new outlook on things that's missing from huge budget films.

At the moment you have categorized movies before and after the 2000s. You could start going by Decade. For Example look up movies from the 70s / 80s etc and see which ones seem intruging and after creating that short list make a poll. That way lesser known movies from the past can suceed in winning in the polls. Otherwise i am very happy how you are doing things!

You could also do Catergories if that is your thing, for example week XX you're in a mood for some good Drama / Thriller Etc and make a poll reacting to that. Same could be done if you want to watch movies from the same director. Let it be David Fincher, Denis Villneuve etc. Sorry for the double post, i have some more thoughts and ideas but i dont want to clutter up this chat :P. Have a great day Brandon

You are doing a great and entertaining job so far Brandon! Thank you for reaching out and asking for Community feedback! There are already some really good suggestions here. It is probably good to add something new like BAD Movies and additional Voting Category's. Personally I really enjoy your regular Movie reactions the most, I think most people do and it seems to work out great for you so far. What I want to say is, don't change to much and do it slowly! :) I understand that it is very time consuming to create new content daily besides a regular Job. But if your time allows, I would also recommend to watch directly two Show episodes on Tuesday and Thursday. This would half the time for the whole show and provide an earlier opportunity to react to the next one, which would probably attract additional users in the end. There are so many very good Mini Series like Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Mindhunter or True Detective. I also hope you can reach a point some day, where you can focus your full time to your channel and enjoy it even more.

We are all happy to share this journey with you. I have never used patreon before and wasnt planning on either, but dammit man.. you won me over. Lol. Question: Do you have any interest in reacting to anime?

Hi. Adding my voice a little late here: Are you going to continue to add full-length reactions to your Patreon that appeared in edited form on your YT channel? (Specifically, I'm wondering about BTTF.) Also, I was wondering if you could add a way in which patrons had a better chance of having you react to personal favorite movies of theirs. Maybe you could add a special tier in which people spent a little more for a month to have their person request prioritized. ... Or alternatively, you could hold a "lottery" once in a while, where people could add their personal requests that you eventually "picked out of a hat." That might give some of the more obscure requests a better fighting chance than a "majority rules" poll result. Edit: One more suggestion: I gathered from the Shawshank reaction that you're actually watching the movies through speakers. While I'm okay with that, I wonder if you'd have a more immersive experience if you could set it up so that you were hearing the movie's soundtrack through your headphones. Some movies are really dependent on their music and soundscape for the viewer to get the full experience.

I'm so happy you've been enjoying the content! I'm so grateful for your support! And absolutely, I haven't seen much but I'm definitely open to watching any quality content!

brandonlikesmovies

Hey I appreciate the suggestions! And I will definitely be adding full length reactions to past videos, BTTF will actually be the first video I edit for that. It just is all about finding time amidst everything else to get those reedited.

brandonlikesmovies

Hey Andi, thank you so much for the kind words and the great suggestions! I would love to be able to do this full time at some point, as movies and filmmaking are my biggest passion!

Thanks so much for responding. I'm really looking forward to it.

You got it brother! As i movie-nerd im just happy for you to see all these great shows. I can highly recommend Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Its in my opinion (and many with me) the greatest anime of all time, but i would say it rivals any show ever made. Its an absolut masterpiece.
