You're totally valid. I think this anime's biggest issue is that its just going too fast. Too many characters and perspectives too quickly. If they had 4 more episodes I think it would be fine. The episodes are definitely carried by the cast and are pretty good in isolation. The funny part is that main plot is fairly simple, they're just showing it from too many angles in brief stints, and throwing in other small stuff so sometimes it gets a little lost. Here's my shortest summary. Maybe itll help: 1) Frostnova drew away the LGD from the city, fought RI 2) While LGD was away, Reunion(Mephisto, Faust, Crownslayer) attacked Lungmen 3) LGD returned to the city, beat back mephisto. 4) Black cloaks appeared, and started slaughtering people/reunion 5) Reunion is literally just trying to get out, and Frostnova has come as backup. The real TLDR is just Reunion attacked Lungmen in force, and is getting stomped into the dirt. Its all been one extended combat. The thing about "The Yeti's have been defeated" threw me for a loop actually. I don't remember that at all lol. It might be like a false report... or maybe reinforcements from Yan (the country lungmen is in). It could be the black coats. Im interested in a reminder next episode.

A few smaller notes! Not really spoilers just extra info. You said Red seemed out of place and thats because she -sort of- is. She's part of RI, but is part of a special squad who takes orders directly from Kalt'sit. She's a terrifying assassin, partly acting as Kalt'sit's body guard (not that she needed it). That flashback was peak. A note that will probably be skipped in the anime is that Scout was also a R.I. elite operator. He was mentioned ONCE in season 1, where they said they couldn't get in contact with his squad in the operation to rescue the doctor. Presumed dead. They did tell his story in a side story in game, but that might be spoilers. And I think ive mentioned this before but the Doctor doesn't really function much as a character until later in the story. Strategist is about all they've got rn. Maybe we'll see a little bit in the next few episodes. But they were mostly developed in side stories, and gain much more personality. They're still pretty f'ed up from sleep in the sarcophagus and suffering amnesia. People say they are important but the Doctor probably barely understands why.
