I honestly loved this episode. That opening scene with Talulah was incredible. Ive rewatched it so many times. And just one note on the Doctor, cause I kind of agree in the anime. But at this stage in the story in game, the Doctor is actually very passive. It actually takes them awhile to come into their own (amnesia and all that) and it reflects weirdly in the anime. But as the story progresses they become more and more of their own character, to the point where I don't really even see them as a self insert /pc anymore in like later chapters and side stories where they are majorly involved. They do try to at least give indications that the Doctor is still commanding in the anime, but it feels a little lack luster.

yeah some of the doctor-lines are actually my favorites later on like "amiya she is scratching my coat" or after the crash in the beginning of gavial's event "time to pay me the money back you owe me" and gavial "yeah sure, wait what..." sounds weird without context but at least donthave to orry about spoielrs like that though just the same kind of dumb/dry humor I would do just like when starts to see the conspiracies in the kjerag event he just starts a snowball fight instead...

spotted lava, kroos and the random purple haired ursus medic girl - makes me wonder if she and the other medic guy will make the jump at one point from the anime into the game?

SUPER MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE VIGILO EVENT AND THE LORE IN GENERAL One thing that I really like about the Doctor being a character is how they're handled in Vigilo. Whenever the Doctor is in the present, you get to pick all of their lines and there's no sprite for them. But in the past during Vigilo, you don't get to pick the Doctor's lines and there is a sprite. I think that's a really fucking clever way to hammer home that the Doctor was a very different person in the past, to the point of being a different character entirely.

One of the weird things about the Arknights story in the game is that most of the maps aren't actually canon. Hypergryph tries to make them follow the story (like if the story is currently on a roof, the map will look like a roof) but the actual fights usually aren't directly happening, but it is alluded to that the Doctor is still "commanding" in battles. The Doctor is actually one of my favorite characters in any piece of media, but it takes a long time for them to get there, and some of the best Doctor information is in an in-game event called Vigilo. Watching the anime is pretty cool for me, since I skipped most of the early story and only got the gist of it when I started playing a couple years ago, so it's really need to see how characters are reacting to the Doctor given what the characters might or might not know. Kal'tsit's was especially neat.
