This is before AHL but not by much at all. I’m so glad you decided to watch this show, it’s hilarious. This is definitely a taste of what you are in for when you start RunBTS! The start of BTS chaotic personalities.

Satoori rap is dope. They’re always flaunting their hometown pride too and rapping in their accents in skits.. Agust D which is Suga’s solo rap name .. actually stands for D(daegu) Town SUGA backwards. PLS react to the live stage of MA City.. it’s one of my favorite song of theirs ever.. they flaunt their hometowns in that one too ! They were sick.. even as rookies and trainees !

Rookie King came first, it aired in 2013 and AHL was 2014 :)

The first time I watched Rookie King, I reacted the same way you did to Jin asking the girl if she was okay, but then I got to thinking about it. Keep in mind that at the time of Rookie King, Jungkook would have been around 15-16, whereas Jin would have been about 20-21. I think the level of maturity of a 20 year old would make it more likely they would ask if someone is okay. Also, JK was extremely shy when he was younger, so that would have added to his reticence to speak. You can see him biting his lip like he would like to say something to her, but I don't think he was comfortable enough to. That's just my opinion.

I've never watched rookie king before so am really enjoying watching it along with you :)

Yeah, Rookie King is basically just them torturing each other for 8 episodes. They're good sports. haha. The first episode had a lot of narration bc of the introduction but it doesn't have so much in later episodes. As others have mentioned, it was before AHL. j-hope was always a pretty good beat-boxer. That's why he was given more advanced rhythms than Jin in AHL. As for Jimin, he had hip hop training too so I think it was just the move from dancing as a contemporary soloist to being on a hip hop team. The boys mention a couple times over the years that Jimin is a little late on the beat (which is a common contemporary thing--dancers tend to land on the end of the beat instead of right on top of it because it feels more emotional and artistic in that style--you'll see it still now if you look for it) so I always assumed it was a matter of doing the moves the same as everyone else. Idk if they every elaborate.

Even though I've been ARMY for over 5 years now, I never watched Rookie King fully. Really enjoying watching it with you. It was just after debut. Frankly, I'm surprised that Jungkook still loves ramen and saunas after this episode. 💜

I was once watching the elevator video again on youtube and someone commented that there's an old urban legend in Korea that if you're on an elevator and a crying woman in black (actually a ghost) gets on and presses all the buttons, you'll end up dying. Which is why V genuinely looked terrified and couldn't quite grasp the situation. It also explains why he comments that he thought she was a ghost.

Rookie King is set up to be like a BTS TV Channel with different segments to represent different shows/content one would find on a TV channel. So you saw JK and V making a commercial for Bangtan Burgers, Jin acting like a news reporter, etc. It's really a fun show!

This episode holds my heart. This is how i discovered BTS. I was on youtube one night years ago watching prank videos and the elevator prank one popped up. That one youtube recommendation changed my entire life lol.

The reason it was just the rap line is because BTS was originally supposed to be a rap group. So RM Suga, and J-hope where in the group before anyone else, so the wrote a lot a songs together before their official debut.
