Third Arc (Fallen Heart) - 207. Sleepless Night II
Angel's lips quirked into a half-smile. "Two reasons. Because of the plan, but especially since you've decided to be with me," he said simply, his voice low and smooth.
Rose bit her lip, her heart pounding in her chest. She had known Angel for some time now, and their relationship had grown closer with each passing day. But the stakes had suddenly been raised, and she found herself wondering if she was ready to take the plunge.
"What happens if I refuse to be with you?" she asked him, her voice trembling slightly. "Are you going to cancel all your plans?"
Angel shook his head from side to side, his gaze still fixed on her face. "No. I will face them alone. With Frost and others. But not with you." His eyes were on her, his voice gentle yet firm.
Rose felt a lump rise in her throat, and she swallowed hard.
"I see..." she muttered, her voice barely above a whisper. "So, it will be my loss then if I refuse you," she said, nodding slowly.
"You could say that," Angel repeated, his voice low and smooth.
Rose's heart skipped a beat as she felt his hand close around hers, his grip firm yet gentle. She couldn't help but notice the way his touch sent shivers down her spine.
He leaned in closer, his breath hot against her ear. "You will lose your chance to kill Ivetta," he whispered, his lips brushing against the lobe of her ear. "And the chance to be with me."
Rose's heart raced at his words. Although she had made her decision, the mere thought of being with him forever sent a thrill through her body. She knew the risks that came with being with Angel, the danger that followed him like a shadow. Yet, despite it all, she couldn't bring herself to turn away from him.
"What's with the sudden confidence?" she teased, her voice laced with a hint of amusement.
"I'm always confident," he replied, his voice dripping with arrogance.
Rose couldn't help but roll her eyes at his response, but she couldn't deny the way his confidence was both alluring and intimidating.
Angel's eyes bore into hers, his gaze was intense and unwavering. "But you know what else I'm confident in?" he asked.
Without waiting for her response, Angel brought his hand up to cup Rose's face, caressing her cheek with his thumb. She felt the warmth of his touch, and her eyes slowly closed as she leaned into his hand, savoring the sensation.
With a soft sigh, Angel pulled her face closer to his, closing the distance between them until their lips met in a gentle, tender kiss. His lips were warm and soft against hers, and she felt a surge of electricity run through her body as she kissed him back.
He held her face in his hands, his fingers gentle and tender against her skin. As they kissed, she could feel the tension and worries of the day slowly melt away, replaced with a sense of calm and security that only he could provide.
The kiss was slow and unhurried, a testament to the tenderness and affection they shared. It was as if they were the only two people in the world, lost in the moment, lost in each other.
They broke their kiss, but the warmth of their lips still lingered, a sensation that spread throughout their bodies like a fire burning bright. Angel leaned back, his hand still cradling Rose's head. Her hair spilled over his fingers like golden silk, and he stroked it slowly, savoring the feel of it.
Their eyes fixed on each other, and for a moment, they simply stayed like that, soaking in the joy of the moment, the happiness, and the comfort they found in each other's arms. Angel's heart swelled with affection for Rose, and he could not help but confess his feelings.
"It feels like a dream," he said, his voice soft and gentle. "I never thought anyone could accept me…"
Rose looked up at him, her eyes full of love and compassion. "Aren't you the most wanted man in this continent?" she asked, half-teasing.
Angel smiled, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Which do you mean?" he asked, his tone playful. That could mean two things. Wanted because they love him or wanted because they want to kill him.
Rose laughed, knowing what he was implying. "They want you as their husband, of course," she replied, even though she was sure Angel was just teasing her.
