Third Arc (Fallen Heart) - 82. The King's Cold Nature II

After all their work was done, Cley and Claire left the study room. As usual, they intended to return to their rooms and get ready for dinner. But just as they came out, a male voice called out to them.
"Cley. Claire."

They turned to the origin of the voice and found Chancellor Allan approaching them hastily.

"Your Grace." They bowed politely.

"Is His Majesty inside? I wanted to convey a couple of things," Chancellor Allan said. Again, it was about Pearl Gate City so he could only convey it to Angel.

"His Majesty is at the training ground now," said Claire. Actually, she was a little curious about this. But, she couldn't complain.

"He's still training as usual?" Chancellor Allan asked with a frown. Chancellor Allan was surprised since he knew how much Angel's workload was. Not to mention Angel just had a meeting with noblewomen.

Cley shrugged.
"It's His Majesty after all."

"What about Her Highness?" Chancellor Allan asked again. He didn't want Angel's busy schedule to mess up his relationship. Moreover, this afternoon's meeting had the potential to create a misunderstanding between them.

"She should be there with His Majesty. She said she would accompany him to practice today," Claire replied.

Chancellor Allan could only sigh. He hoped that Angel would take her for a walk somewhere better.

"We'll take you there," Cley added. Then they walked to the training ground.

"I don't understand why they don't take a walk in the garden? Why do they prefer the training ground?" Chancellor Allan said without stopping his steps.

"Perhaps Her Highness prefers to look around at weapons than flowers," Cley made a random guess.

"Her Highness was a warrior, Your Grace. She's more used to things like that," Claire said. Rose often told her about how she trained at Zephyrus, so Claire guessed the training ground reminded her of her home. Moreover, Rose looked very excited to accompany Angel today.

"Indeed. But I think the king should take her to the proper place." Then Chancellor Allan sighed again.
"But I think this is good enough. As long as he doesn't make her his sparring partner."

The twins laughed.
"There's no way His Majesty will do that," Claire said.

"He's not that crazy," added Cley.

But what they saw next made the twins regret it. As they passed through the open corridor and looked at the Training ground, they stopped. Their jaws dropped in shock and their eyes widened as they saw the royal couple fighting in the middle of the training ground. Indeed they realized the royal couple used training weapons. Still... That didn't take away the fact that the king used his wife as his sparring partner!

Chancellor Allan could feel his strength disappear upon his shock. He staggered backwards a bit. The twins immediately supported him.

"Tell me that I'm dreaming..." Chancellor Allan muttered without taking his eyes off the royal couple. He thought this would never happen to the royal couple, but he was wrong.

"Uh... Y-You aren't, Your Grace," Cley said. His shock was also evident in his tone of voice. Claire could only press her lips since she didn't know what to say anymore.

Upon this scene, Chancellor Allan was deep in thought, trying to find a way so the royal couple could date like a normal couple and he immediately remembered something.
"The list..." Chancellor Allan turned to Cley and Claire alternately.
"Have you made the list?"

"We did, Your Grace. But it's not finished yet," Claire replied.

"It's fine. We can add more later. We just need to give it to him," said Chancellor Allan. This was a good time to build a relationship for the royal couple so he couldn't miss this. He had to make sure Euphorion got a successor.

The twins exchanged glances before returning their gazes to Chancellor Allan.
"The problem is... We didn't dare to do it," Cley said in hesitation.

"He didn't ask for it. Wouldn't it be weird if we suddenly handed him a list he didn't ask for?" added Claire.

Chancellor Allan extended his hand with his palm facing up.
"Give it to me. I'll give it to him right now."
