Chapter 48. Two Demon Lords

I curled up intimately in Lord Damon's lap, enjoying his warmth. Somehow I could feel more comfortable with him than anyone else, more than I had ever felt. I decided to stay and accompany him a little longer. Besides, I can't do anything since it's still daytime.
"It's so warm... I want to be with him forever..." I thought.

My eyes almost closed as my ears listened to the sound of his heartbeat. But suddenly I can feel a great power approaching. I immediately opened my eyes and woke up in surprise. While he quickly gave his orders.
"Go! Now!"

"No, I won't leave you, " I refused. I'm sure this person's power is almost the same as his. How could he fight it if he was still bound to his throne?

I pulled out my claws preparing to fight, but there was a power that lifted my body. I can recognize that power belongs to Lord Damon.
"My lord?" I said in confusion.

"I'll be fine, Lilieth," he said. A gentle smile formed from his ice-cold face as a portal formed behind me, then he flung me there.

His smile struck me, my instinct said he would be in trouble.
"My lord! Please let me accompany you! " I shouted. I reached out my hand, trying to reach him as I watched him fade away from my sight and the portal before me closes.

Another portal suddenly appeared before Damon. A dark blue hair man with a cold face came out from there and swept his gaze suspiciously.

"What brings you back, Erebus? Or should I call you 'Your Majesty'?" Damon asked in a sarcastic tone.

Erebus returned his gaze to Damon and gave him an evil smirk.
"I just want to make sure you don't do anything stupid, brother."

Damon gave him a sarcasm smirk.
"Brother? Do you still deserve to call me that?" he said coldly.

Erebus approached him with casual steps.
"Do you mind if I call you brother because we're only half-sibling? Or because I'm only half-demon?"

Damon swung one of his skeleton wings, a great force lunged at Erebus. He gasped, a pair of wings coming straight out of his back and covering him. But even though he had protected himself, he was pushed back slowly, his dragged footprints clearly visible on the floor.

A minute later after the situation calmed, Erebus opened his wings. Shows a black batwing on his left shoulder and a white bird wing on his right shoulder, which clearly shows his status as a half-demon and half-angel.

"After you slandered me in the human world, took my throne in the demon kingdom and trapped me here do you still deserve to call me that?" Damon said, looking at him sharply.

Erebus gave him an evil smile.
"Do not be angry like that. I do this for peace. I will unite the three worlds under my reign. If demon's, human's and angel's world unite, the world will be in peace. There will be no more war. There will be no more suffering. " he paused for a moment as sadness was clearly visible in his eyes.
"And there won't be another person who have the same fate as me..." he said in a softer voice, his evil smile replaced with a bitter smile.

"Bringing together three different worlds will only destroy the world itself!" Anger clearly rang out from Damon's voice. He took a breath to calm himself before continue to speak. "Erebus, it's not too late to stop all this madness. Come back with me to the dark dimension," he said in a calmer tone.

Erebus was silent for a moment.
"No," he replied. He extended his hand to Damon, his eyes filled with determination, the chain that bound Damon glowed, restricting him to attack.
"Father has abandoned me! All of you have abandoned me! I will not return!" he said again.
"Draw!"

Dark aura emanated from Damon's body and entered Erebus. Damon could feel his power disappear, his face paled and his body weakened but Erebus's condition was not good either. He was breathing heavily, his sweat began to show on his face.
"Erebus, stop it! You have taken too much! You will die!" snapped Damon.

But Erebus paid no heed to his words and continued to take on his power until he fell to the floor with heavy breathing. His body trembled, he knew he was within his limits to accommodate Damon's power.

Whereas Damon, who was also breathing heavily on his throne, only stared coldly at him.

Erebus got up as he took a breath.
"Thank you for your power. I will ask Reyn to bring more 'food' for you."

Erebus turned around as a portal formed before him.

"Erebus, if I knew our father abandoned you in the human world long ago. I would definitely pick you up sooner," Damon said suddenly.

Erebus halted his steps after hearing Damon's words and clenched his fists.
"It's too late now..." Then he walked into the portal.

Damon looked at Erebus who disappeared into the darkness.
"Yes ... Too bad I'm late," he muttered.
