It took a whole lot of tweaking, but I finally put together a version of the Earth that looks good enough for (relative) close-ups. If you include failed experiments, it probably took the better part of a week just tweaking this... which is why it was good to have some extra time! Otherwise I would have just had to go ahead and use the unfinished version I had before, which didn't look nearly as good. It'll come in handy if I ever do stuff on a similar scale in the future!

Love it. Make sure to have a back up of it. Just an hour ago I was watching a YouTuber animate a video and he deleted his work by mistake, he didn't have a back up. Make sure your backup has backups. I always wondered if GTS animators can show normal people how to make the work that you make. Do you have to have a background or understanding of drawing in general? I'd assume so. But yeah, looking forward to see what you do with this.

Yep, I made a backup, and it's backed up on Dropbox too. There's no drawing involved, I'm just taking existing textures, AI upscaling them and tweaking them in other ways, and then editing the shaders a bit.
