Listeners... I've been thinking...

I feel strongly about the coverage in this episode. It was the result of two months of work. I've noticed an abnormal number of people made it through less than 10 mins of the episode. That troubles me because it defeats the purpose of creating the episode in the first place. I lost sleep contemplating this. So, after much thought, I spent the morning retooling the episode.

Presented to you here is the audio censored version of the episode. For those that are sensitive to the sounds of harmed animals. I know some will view this as an act of weakness. But I feel the coverage is larger than me. Sometimes you have to put your artistic priorities aside. I hope this is a sign that I care about you all and the message presented in the content.

I would also like to take a moment to say that this is in no way an act of relenting on the content I create. Future Black Label episodes will continue to remain unflinching, experimental, and dark.

Keep the Fire Burning,

Justin

I was all for darker, until I found out it was about animals, for some reason it affects me so much more than any human stories. I did listen to it all uncensored, you did a brilliant job as always but I had to stop a few times and take a break, you came through as promised but far out, I didn’t know this even existed and it shook me. As always, thank-you for your tireless work, truly a brilliant podcast!!!!

Dear Justin, Thank you for doing this, and extra appreciation for the difficult decision you must have had to make to revise the original. I have listened to all of your episodes am consistently amazed by your depth of research, proficiency in storytelling, and personal narration. I could not make it through the original episode, as my empathy for animals is very great. Even the thought of animal torture, abuse, neglect, or murder just makes me feel heartbroken. I am glad that you are so concerned about your listeners and their wellbeing. Thank you for all you do.

Omg, thank you very much for doing this!! For some weird reason the death rattle doesn't freak me but as soon as I hear an animal in distress I'm in Ninja mode! I couldn't do it, I didn't even get 10min in & I thought.. this is the ep that would give me PTSD... I freakishly look forward to the listen minus, my heart being broken! Your Work is Absolutely Amazing & please don't stop with the gory details,... I think animal killing is whole another level..,? Please don't stop what your doing, I'm a new Patreon & look forward to what's coming Next!! X

Sorry you had to watch these vids while researching. My imagination was more than enough to have me taking breaks from listening. I’ve also experienced putting my dog down and the unbearable silence at home. Finally broke down and lost it on day 3. Painful. RIP Frank and Mousse.

Only episode I didn't wanna finish. Didn't even want to hear descriptions. Gonna go listen to CumTown and laugh and then go home to my 3 kitties. Fuck you people who do this shit.

I had to stop before 10 min. I’ll try this episode though. I’m never that sensitive, but this was another level. Thank you for putting this episode out for us who can’t handle animal torture.

Hearing the Guinea pig being tortured killed me. Owning rabbits people don't know how expressive they can be. I appreciate you covering this. I must like to torture myself because this is the only episode of any podcast I had issues listening to, but I still did.

dude, thank you SO much for making this censored episode. i agree this is a topic that needs to be talked about, but personally i just could not handle hearing the animals. i’m very late to the podcast (just started listening a few days ago), so i very gratefully had a choice between censored or no. i’m glad i went with my instincts and chose censored. the descriptions alone in the censored episode made me physically ill, and left my face contorted with disgust throughout the entire thing. i really don’t think i could have handled hearing any animal sounds. i currently have 3 guinea pigs, 2 cats, a dog, a hamster, fish, and caterpillars so any animal noises would have hit close to home for me. 🖤

Ur a trooper. We've got two rabbits as well and I'm relieved to say i've never heard them scream.

Thank you, I don’t know why but the animals bother me so much more than the humans.

Thank you. I've never so much as downloaded this episode and it's because I realized animals were harmed in it. Maybe I can try the censored version but maybe I can't--perhaps just hearing about it will be enough to shut me off.

I completely agree and couldn’t articulate my feelings any better than they are already stated here. I appreciate the editing of this episode, it was the only episode I had to skip (all my babies have 4, or at least were born, with 4 legs) and have fur. Thank you again for showing your caring and appreciation for ALL of your listeners! !
