This song was a complete pleasure to work on.  The classical feel and openness of this song hooked me from the first time I loaded into New Bark Town.  I added some building percussion to the song because it had plenty of room :)

I have a peculiar relationship with Gold. I was growing up in France when the craze was starting, and around the time we beat Red, a friend came back from Japan with a copy of Gold. It was unbelievably cool! Colors! day/night! phone calls! more pokemon! new map! so much stuff! But the game was in japanese, and if you think about it, Pokemon is a very import-unfriendly game!! I can't tell you how many times we accidentally forgot moves we loved with crappy useless ones... I eventually got stuck when you have to go back to Goldenrod to fight the Team Rocket. There's a guy blocking the path and you get a phone call of where to go but... how were we supposed to know that? Anyway, to get back on topic, this song carries a lot of the memories of the magic of discovering Gold back in the day to me. In general Gold/Silver have an AMAZING soundtrack! even better than the original, and that one created a ginormous media franchise. Really hope to hear more from Gen 2

Thanks Smooth McGroove for relieving my childhoods of Silver and Crystal one of the best Pokemon games to be made which pushes the limits of GBC cartridges by expanding not 1 but 2 regions. Thanks again.
