Hi everyone,

We'll be live tonight at 8pm BST.

The subject is hobby focus, and what can positively and negatively affect it.

I'd love to hear any of your experiences, be they particular challenges or little hacks you've used to get projects done etc. So pop them in the comments and I'll be sure to bring them up tonight.

Thanks again for all the support, we have so much good stuff planned for you guys in the coming months.

Culture of Paint Episode 14: FOCUS!

Welcome to another episode of Culture of Paint! A regular, fortnightly show where we discuss all things to do with the miniatures painting community. In tonight’s show we’re discussing the ways in which hobby can get derailed and some of the things we try to get it back on track, and as usual we’ll be taking questions from the live audience and seeing what our #paintcultist’s have been up to. If you'd like us to feature your work make sure to tag us with #paintcultist Timestamps Featured accounts:

Number 1 thing for me is making sure you leave everything ready to go for the next session, at the end of every session. So refresh the wet palette, fresh water in the water pots, clean and condition your brushes etc. Just removes that barrier next time you’re planning to paint. Another barrier can be accessing your hobby tools and paints, so having a decent setup, if you have the space, where your paints are all in arms reach helps a lot

I was a hobby butterfly until I managed to stop buying so much. Almost as a point of pride, I started a one-in, one-out policy of never buying a new box of minis until the last one I bought was finished, or at least at a point where I knew I wouldn’t give up on it. It took me about a year, but I have about 2500 points painted up in my main army (about 70 models) to a high tabletop standard, with a few display-quality characters mixed in. I like to have 1-3 projects going at once, all of different painting quality. So when I bought Dominion, I started Yndrasta at the same time I started batch painting the regular Sigmarines, so that there was always something satisfying to work on, whether that was the odd face, NMM on Yndrasta, airbrushing the metallics on the sigmarines, doing the bases, etc. always progress to enjoy.
