Good Morning Cult!

Hope some of you will be getting you Sigvald Pre orders in the post this weekend. Here is Part 1 for the Sigvald series which I hope is enough to keep you occupied this week. I have tried a different style this time, with still images I am talking over. I chose this as it allowed me to do nice close up shots and give you an accompanying PDF guide. I thought it would be nice to have a video explaining all the theory and why, then you can just refer to the PDF when you sit down and paint him. I used my new camera for the face photos, and I am not happy with them. My new camera (Canon M50) is fantastic for video with 4K footage, but may ancient Canon 5D has an incredible lens on it and still wins on still shots. So for the later parts of the tutorial, I switch back to my old camera and the shots are much sharper. So for all the NMM elements I hope you will see much clearer photos.

I thought it was just amazing to put together so I hope you enjoy! I didn’t actually talk about Sub- Assemblies in the video. You will see the kit is actually really great to paint in Parts. I would break it down in as few or many as you feel comfortable. It is worth noting I painting it in one piece mostly due to the very fast deadline I had for this.

Let me know your thoughts on this pairing of video & PDF and if you had heard of Rembrandt lighting before. Most of all, enjoy!

I did enjoy this style a fair bit. Not sure what can be done with overlays, but when showing palette views, is it possible to have text with a little pointer showing which paint is which?

Thanks for this Andy! Really liked the reflective element on the video and the accompanying pdf is perfect to fit alongside the vid! I really loved the inquisitor video where we literally saw your step by step though! It was great hearing your thoughts in real time, how you went about blending colours and your actual brush strokes and your push and pull of paint. For me, I'd love to see you continue to do the videos where we watch you paint the model exactly as you did with the inquisitor. Both kinds of videos are still fantastic and a great learning experience!
