Hey Cultists!

Final part of painting the Lion. The main focus is the cloak. I used the airbrush but honesty I think I would have preferred to use just the brush for more visible Brush strokes. So it’s up to you what you go for, but you are not at a disadvantage if you don’t own an airbrush.

As I mention I believe there are a few superfluous steps, so in the summary below I will mention those.

Cloak

Base VMC Olive Brown 70.889 (only used this to cover the red)

Base Scale 75 Gobi Brown would be best

GW Baneblade Brown

GW Rakarth flesh (you could skip this but it is quite nice)

Vallejo or AK Deck Tan

Deck Tan and Ivory

Ivory

Mud

Burnt Umber 70.941 airbrush dusting

Burnt Umber Brush strokes

Lion’s Fluffy Blanket

Gobi Brown

Gobi + GW Zandri Dust

Zandri Dust

Zandri Dust + AK/VMC Sunny Skintone

Claws

Burnt Umber

Burnt Umber + Blue grey pale

Burnt Umber + Blue grey pale + Ivory

Black Cloth

Black + Scale 75 Eclipse Grey

Eclipse Grey

Eclipse Grey + any grey

White Wings

Scale 75 Graphite

Graphite + VMC white

Painting the base for next weeks tutorials and then its new mini time! Hope you like it.

Hi Andy, Looks lovely. I wish I had your skill with a nice smooth brush stroke. The dark grey tabard is great. I know I would have tried to push brighter colours and that would have been a mistake. I am really enjoying the patreon videos. Keep up the great work.

Awesome stuff. May I ask...did you ever film your version of Leman Russ at all? The pics I saw of him on instagram look amazing!
