How to Paint Night Lords Space Marines for The Horus Heresy from Forgeworld.

In this video we take a look at how to paint Night Lords Space Marines for The Horus Heresy. Just in time for Book 9 Crusade from Forgeworld. A lot of our Heresy schemes are based off the original ones published by Forgeworld, which we have updated and tweaked over the years as better paints become available and to try and keep the amount of mixing and stages to a minimum. As Night Lords didn't change a huge amount post heresy this scheme should also work really well for any Chaos Space Marine / Heretic Astartes projects you may have for Warhammer 40k as well. Love it! Really nice scheme. Do you know what kind of timescale it'll be for the other legions? If there was a White Scars one on the horizon it would be amazing... :D

Ah yes! I'm blind, thanks! Would you say you'd use the exact same scheme for a 30k force?

Looks excellent as usual Henry - nice work! Which kit are you using for the basic marines? I assume this has the Night Lords helmet upgrades, but what about the bodies? Looks like they’d be good to practice volumetric highlighting as there’s none of the post-Heresy frou-frou getting in the way... Cheers.

Thanks Rob, sorry for late reply, just got a new puppy so a bit all over the shop! The body, backpack and legs are the plastic mk4 kit. Resin claw, old plastic chaos marine left arm, resin helmet. In my opinion one of the absolute best minis to practice are the basic Primaris marine troops. Super clean, lots of nice shapes, and good proportions.

Thanks Henry; I couldn’t find it coz I was looking on Forge World. Not that I strictly need another set of marines as I’ve got 5 assault intercessors in progress and a box of 10 standard intercessors in the cupboard, but y’know, just in case... 😂. Congrats on the puppy!
