After taking a few extra days to double check some grades so that I could get all my ducks in a row, here are (at last!) my rankings for every single offensive and defensive position group in the 2019 Draft class. Most of these positions are limited to top five lists, but some of them have been expanded to as high as ten simply because of how absurdly deep they are. Before we get into the lists themselves though, here are a few key takeaways from my overall opinion of this class:

1) While not quite as good as last year's phenomenal "big five", this year's quarterback crop is better than people think. This group is probably in the top two or three QB classes since 2013, and Haskins/Murray are a fantastic one-two punch at the top. I think both of them will end up as Pro Bowlers as long as they are in the right systems that fit their skillsets.

2) Wide Receiver is as deep as it's been since the fabled 2014 class with Watkins, Evans, Beckham, Cooks, and Adams all coming out at the same time. The talent at the top isn't quite the same as that year, but just in terms of pure depth I think we could see as many as eight or nine guys go in the first couple rounds. Early round two in particular will be the sweet spot for this group.

2) Unless you specifically need a Will linebacker or a Tampa-2 style Mike, the LB class is EXTREMELY thin this year. Several of them will be overdrafted out of desperation, so teams would be wise not to fall for that trap. Honestly, I can sort of understand why all these linebackers just got paid so much damn money in free agency now.  The GMs had no choice because their options in the draft were so limited.

3) The Edge class is incredibly deep and all of them will likely be productive, but none of the top guys are *quite* as special as past elite prospects like Von Miller, Myles Garrett, Bradley Chubb, or Khalil Mack. There's a lot of multiple-time Pro Bowlers here, but I'm not sure if any of them will be perennial All-Pros...except *maybe* Gary or Sweat if they land in the right system with the right coaches.

4) The interior defensive line class, however, is the best I've ever seen. I think the All-Pro nominations will be DOMINATED by this group for the next decade. As good as we like to say the Edge class is, the interior guys are much better overall. I don't know if we'll ever see a class like this again.

5) This is a top heavy offensive line class that lacks a lot of depth, but that talent at the top is as good or better than any other first rounders that we've seen enter the league in recent memory. I wouldn't be shocked if as many as eight offensive linemen all go on day one, which would the most since that 2013 group that boasted Lane Johnson, Kyle Long, and Travis Frederick.

Keep all of these observations in mind as you check out these rankings, because trust me...not all first (R1) and second round (R2) grades are created equal. I'll have a full big board with everyone put "in order" coming out soon so that you can get an idea of where everyone actually stands. Until then, enjoy the rankings!

Brett Kollmann

I would absolutely go offensive line. My number one priority as the Buffalo GM is to make sure Josh is comfortable. If he can't sit in the pocket without getting killed, then I ain't doing my job correctly lol

So you prefer OL over DL? Beane has added plenty of OL (albeit not young)... Kyle Williams retired and EDGE is a need, with Jerry Hughes being UFA at season's end and nothing if consequence behind him on the depth chart
