Wow! This is alot of fun. You're visiting one of my childhood favorites. It really holds up well over time and is still great and good for adults. Love your analysis, spot on. Here are some suggestions for other movies I think you will like. These all came out when I a kid in the 80s, but hold up well to an adult viewing. But before that, I just want to say how much I've enjoyed your channel over the last few weeks. I appreciate your more in-depth take on the story, production, and character arcs. Reminds me not to be so passive anymore with my own movie watching, especially now that I'm going taking an interest in black & white movies. I'm particularly enjoying the 50s sci-fi flicks. They are very entertaining. Anyway, some movies: Secret of NIMH: this is an animated movie, and very sweet. Still gives me the feels after all this time (watched it a few weeks ago). Intelligent rats and a endearing little mouse. I had wondered how the animation would hold up after 40 years, and 2D animation is still amazing. I hope that it doesn't become a lost art. The Last Unicorn: wonderful animation, and an unusual story. Even my middle aged husband like it when we watched it last year. Dark Crystal: this is an absolute MUST SEE. This was Jim Henson's baby, he put his entire self into its production. Beautiful story, exploring the dark and light. Sets are gorgeous, puppeteering at its best. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind: this is my most favorite anime film. This is one of Miyazaki's first films (long before Spirited Away), before setting up Studio Ghibli. This is based off the his manga by the same name. Nausicaa, the main character, is definitely tops when it comes to my favorite heroines in tv/movies (along with Delenn from Babylon 5 and Sam Cater from Stargate SG-1, both sci-fi tv shows). In addition to Nausicaa, if you haven't seen Princes Mononoke, that is an anime must. Most people cite Spirited Away as their favorite, but I personally enjoyed Princess Mononoke better. Production values are the same, excellent writing and cast, but the story is most to my personal taste (and probably not all the different from Nausicaa, as it focuses on our relationship with the earth and what flows from our good and bad treatment of her) All these movies have something wonderful for both kids and adults. It's fun to go back and watch them now after I watched them a kid.
