Never seen it before but it seems silly?

Great trilogy, although in my opinion the third doesn’t stack up to the first two.

Travis

It’s funny, it’s just kind of dated. I’m not sure it holds up. It’s definitely very silly. That’s the style of humor.

John_s34

Worth the watch, I enjoyed it a lot

Rondo

i have huge doubts that it would be anything you would enjoy. not to mention the weird stereotypes and tropes in them.

PhillyJ

I don't think it holds up very well. Pretty offensive.

Anonymous

pretty funny at the time. I’m sure some of it seems dated though. get more out of it if you are familiar with the old James Bond movies that it spoofs

MrChill

It's a very specific sense of humor. I'd say watch the preview, and if you think it's funny, then you might like it. I personally didn't. I don't think that Mike Myers dressed up with bad teeth says "I'm sexy baby yeaaaah" when he's not sexy at all isn't funny, so it wasn't for me.

Rey

I didnt think it was anything special, felt dated.

It was ok years ago, but it’s so dated it’s not very funny anymore. You want a funny movie, do Blazing Saddles. Austin Powers is a waste.

Isai Hernandez

Watch Superbad, that movie def holds up

Anonymous

Heck yes! it's hilarious! Of course everyones got a different sense of humor, but I think it's generally pretty hilarious amongst most. It's especially great if you've watched any Bond.

Philip

It's a hit or miss kind of franchise. Not sure what kind of comedy you like, so I'm just basing my vote on my experience of enjoying it.

I honestly think your better off watching movies like braveheart and last of the mohicans BUT there is no harm in watching this as a buisness decision...or airplane lol..cuz your chanel has yrs and yrs to watch stuff

Anonymous

It's not a comedy that I think back and go "oh you know what I haven't seen in forever, Austin Powers, I should rewatch it". It feels very much in that weird time and a place vibe. I think as comedies moved on into the 2000's they got better. I mean you're looking at American Pie era American comedies so a lot of it can be pretty unintended cringe.

Everyone LOVED the movies back in the day, they were Comdey blockbusters. I'm not sure that they would hold up today. I'm like 40% sure you wouldn't like them now. But if the poll says YES then just go for it

Dan

I still re-watch the first Austin Powers from time to time and still really enjoy it. It's innocent entertainment and pokes fun at outdated chauvinism. If you're up for a more up-to-date spy comedy from a more female perspective, I LOVE love love "Spy" with Melissa McCarthy. You should definitely check that out!

Thomas Williamson

The third one (Goldmember) was hilarious, but unfortunately, to get the jokes you have to sit through the first two, and I didn't find them very watchable.

Wade Abraham

Dr. Evil is an awesome character that is definitely worth watching at least once.

MotoDork

It is silly, and that’s what makes it great.

Jon B

From what I remember, the humor was pretty dated. It felt like a drawn out SNL skit. If you want to start with some comedies, there's always the classics like Hot Shots, Airplane and Naked Gun.

It's very dated and most of the comedy in it no longer hits. It's essentially a cringe fest.

Nicholas Hentges

They are a lot of fun and although a lot of the jokes will be a little dated now, I think they are still worth a watch, at least the first one. The second was cringey for me even at the time (though it is still a lot of fun) and the third is just so silly, but also still fun

Jon B

Instead of Austin Powers, I think Mary should watch Top Gun (1986) !

It is the silliest thing you will ever see and it is absolutely worth watching
