Gotta get that Joker action going lol

Voted! 😄 I invite you to still watch Wall-E (the movie I recommended) on your own time. I’m positive you particularly will absolutely love and gush over it 💙

Aaron Shore

I loved Wall-E!

As much as I love Indiana Jones, since you're already deep into the superhero world of movies, might as well knock out the Dark Night trilogy. Christopher Nolan is such a good director.

I love a lot of Disney and Pixar films. Wall E is one of them. A nice film.

With your indulgence, I would like to set some expectations. This is my opinion, YMMV, add all the disclaimers you care to. The Lord of the Rings were three adult books that were condensed into three movies. The most common criticism of the movies IME was the assumption that you had already heard of (person, place, thing). In the first movie Legolas sees a pack of evil birds and shouts, "[proper noun] from [place name]!" That's an easter egg if you've read the books, complete gibberish if you haven't. It actually takes you out of the film for a moment, because you don't understand what he's saying. Similarly, the reveal of Strider as Aragorn has weight on the page but fails to land in the movie because we didn't get enough history. "The Hobbit" trilogy has the exact opposite problem. It was one book, written for children, that was stretched so that it would take up three movies. You may enjoy The Hobbit trilogy *more* if you *have not* read the book yet. I do recommend reading "The Hobbit," btw. Delightful, charming, lovely tale.

Random question, but does anyone know if the Warcraft movie has ever been suggested? I know it's too late to suggest it now with the options above taking priority, but if it has been suggested, at least I will know it's a possibility down the road. And if this is the first time Warcraft has been mentioned here, and there is even the vaguest interest, I'll go ahead and quietly sit on this recommendation until the next time Mary asks for more recommendations. Anyhoo, if anyone has read this far, thanks and have a Happy Holiday / Merry Christmas.

I’m mixed about the X-men movies. Some are worth watching and others are not so much. It’s about 50/50 for me, and I think Logan is great. Otherwise pales in comparison to MCU as a whole. If you haven’t seen the Dark Knight Trilogy yet, that has my top vote for sure! They don’t present themselves in a way you’d expect from comic book film genre. 10 bad-great vs 3 good-great movies. And Heath Ledger winning that Oscar for his turn as Joker is a great reason to see why.

Ryan Ernst

X-Men will likely be rebooted in the MCU soon. So, may not be worthwhile to react to the current movies.

I doubt it, I don't feel like it was well received other than the CGI for the magic which was nicely done.

The only good movie in the DK trilogy is the second one. Waste of time watching all three

Darren Withers

Well, It looks like Dark knight is gonna take it. For the record, I’d like to say I’m glad to see you referred to Indiana Jones as a trilogy. I’m sure you’ve heard, but I’ll say it again. don’t bother with the fourth one. It is the black sheep of the series, it is the Highlander 2 of the franchise, even if it did attempt to round out one aspect of the storyline.

Emad Abdellatif

To some, the third movie is the greatest of the trilogy. Film is subjective, my friend

Roddy Rod

DEFINITELY The Dark Knight Trilogy

Philip

Dark Knight trilogy all the way for me. The only reason why you should watch the X-Men and Wolverine films though is if you ever decide to watch Deadpool, which I have no doubts you’ll enjoy. Although you don’t necessarily NEED to watch them in order to understand Deadpool, but some jokes might make more sense if you did.

Mr. Writhms

You haven't seen the Dark Knight Trilogy or the Indiana Jones trilogy? Whoa... You can't choose between them. You HAVE to see both. :)
