Double whammy! While not quite as good as the first, this one packs some of the biggest emotional punches in the MCU. Another thing you should know, this movie takes place only four months after the events of the first Guardians movie. So a lot of the movies you have watched and will watch, this one takes place before all of those.

Love the MCU pace (oh yea n the makeup).. also if u didn't realize bradley cooper is rocket raccoon. I just didn't hear u mention

Kevin T

Dangg!! You are working hard getting through these! So close to my favorite 2, Ragnarok and Infinity War :)

Saifu

Thank you for the early Christmas presents Mary!!!

MotoDork

Why in the world would they mute it when you don't have any audio or video from the film on display?

MJ

Yeah good call on the tissues, be prepare to cry in some of the last few MCU movies... Like CRYING UNCONTROLLABLY

The Zune--the "rip off iPod"--was Microsoft's attempt at a competitor to the iPod. They were discontinued in 2011, which is the joke about it being what everyone on Earth is listening to now and the capacity being 300 songs--a huge step up from the cassette tapes on Peter's Walkman, but totally obsolete by the time of the movie.

“There are two types of beings in the universe. Those who dance and those who do not.” Glad to see you’re the dancing type :) Spider-Man: Homecoming is next!

awesome that you’re throwing these out so quickly 🙂. We’re really enjoying following you on this journey!

Great reaction! I’m sure people have already stated it, but Homecoming and Far From Home in the Spider-Man series are part of the MCU and are a great watch, so be sure to check that out.

To explain the egg thing, Peter's dad, Ego, planted little seeds of his own being I guess in all of the planets he visited 2x. Once in a woman (lol couldn't help myself) and once in the ground. He wanted to expand himself all over the universe but he needed the help of another celestial, so that's why he had so many kids to try this. That's why whenever you saw him siphoning Peter's powers those egg things started expanding on different planets (like by the dairy queen on Earth). So they were not inside the egg, it was just that all the eggs were expanding and they were cutting over to show that! :D

Great reaction! I'm very excited that Spider-Man: Homecoming is next, I think you're going to love it. I wonder if the soundtrack to Guardians 3 is going to show us all the new Earth music Quill has discovered on his Zune?

Jesse Moreno

Ego wasn't lying about loving Peters mom, during the exposition scene he said how Peter's mom was the first being he ever fell in love with and then later when we found out about all his "failed" offspring that didn't have the 'Celestial Gene'. So i believe that love is the "light" source that enabled the 'Celestial Gene' to be passed down...

It's really amazing how many ups and downs the film has. The movie has so many sad moments, but it's also very funny. My highlight here was Nebula. Somehow her story always touches me. in the end I not only had tears in my eyes and I saw the film several times.

if s nice to find a girl like nebula psychoticaly committed and always on task

A little bonus note...the Robot Head in Stallone's crew was voiced by Miley Cyrus. Also, love this movie, as the theme of family just works so well throughout.

I loved the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie but I really dislike this sequel. I've tried watching it twice (once by myself, and once with a Mary Cherry uncut) but I just turned off the movie after about 40 minutes in both cases. Just can't stand it.

Watching the Guardians in the cinema is a amazing experience. The crowd is always hyped.

When I was in the Navy, I would religiously read Guardians of the Galaxy, so was excited to hear about the first movie. But the movie included people I didn't know (except Starlord and Yondu, I knew those). I realized quickly that the movie was based on the original line-up and I had been reading a later line-up. Yondu was always, and still is, my favorite Guardian!

Oouga

You asked what the tapes were over Yondu's face during his funeral. They are strips of cloth with military ribbons on them. He earned those in was working for the Ravagers. I watched every Marvel film in the theatres except Spiderman Homecoming (I saw that much later due to illness), and often I can tell you the audience reactions to each film. But this one I couldn't. I was too busy crying at the beautiful funeral Yondu was given to notice anyone else, including those who went with me. Yondu got the end he deserved and I cried for ten minutes over it, missing all of the end credit scenes, in fact.

Ok, I've been waiting to write about this one. (The Trailer for the movie is amazing by the way- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hdv_6gl4gk) This, could be my favorite of the Marvel movies. Lots of stuff to say here. I have two videos to link. One, I'll do now. You should watch this, and see how many people you recognize. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MMMe1drnZY You should watch it over and over again. There are at LEAST 6 people to recognize. (Hints two sisters, a blue guy, a tattooed guy, and a main character, and someone with antenna ) (Also the director and his brother) The Second video is this essay, on just how emotional this silly little movie is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VulkN5OLEM It is a great video essay, I won't speak for the author. James Gunn is the director of the movie, and his next movie is "The Suicide Squad" (Or, Suicide Squad 3-ish.) This is coming out pretty soon, direct to HBO Max. So, you should watch Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey to get ready for that. (They're on HBO too) What to say about Vol. 2 though, that hasn't been said? Oh, here's something. A lot of the big celebrity cameos in the movie, like Sylvester Stallone, and Ving Rhames - The character's they're playing is the original Guardians. Ving is Charley 27, Stallone is Starhawk, Michael Rosenbaum is Martinex, That's the sort of Easter egg stuff that's kind of cool. I thought I'd have more to write, but I guess I'm stifled by the fact that so much has been said already. I just thought of two more small things. First, there was a scene in the first movie where it's stated that Yondu will not be getting a funeral. He's just, fallen that far. So that he does actually get one in the end, is a pretty big deal. Lastly that Gilded Cocoon thing at the end, is something you should remember exists. Could be important later.

I'm watching these reactions 7 months later, so I really hope somebody got her to stop fucking around with the mid- and post-credit sequences.
