Woo so Captain America: Civil War is next!!! It's typically considered one of the best and biggest in the MCU. Per my comment before, it's even bigger than the Avengers! And A LOT OF THINGS HAPPEN IN CIVIL WAR so I would actually recommend a few breaks during your watching if you feel like you need it to process what's going on.

David Martin

Marvel made turned a D-list star into an A-list star. This movie surprised a lot of people when it first came out. Its a film nobody asked for, but now everybody loves lol

Jayson Phillips

You think the mcu is awesome now? Just wait until you watch the next movie, Captain America Civil War. It takes the mcu to a new level. It's considered the best movie by alot of people.

MotoDork

Captain America: Civil War will wreck you. It wrecked me.

Kevin Mowery

Just a fun bit of trivia: The guy in the car that Scott falls onto when he first wears the suit is Garrett Morris, the first person to play Ant-Man in live action, in a Saturday Night Live sketch from 1979, "Superhero Party."

Rashad Walker

Your goin to love civil war!

Not sure if you caught it, but the beginning flashback in 1989 told us a couple of things. 1. The guy that Hank slams off the table is working for SHIELD during that time period, but then in the present day he says he’s with Hydra. That’s just another example of Hydra growing within SHIELD to corrupt it like we found out about in Winter Soldier. 2. The guy with grey hair and mustache who was in the flashback trying to convince Hank Pym to stay was Howard Stark, Tony’s Dad. So Hank’s got a lot of reasons to now not trust the Avengers with his Pym Particle technology.

I'm disappointed that you didn't do a countdown. Its not a huge deal, but little things like this just make me have to do more work to get things in sync

David Crabtree

I think your forgetting just how many good scientists there are in the MCU that you've seen so far. Bruce Banner, Betty Ross, Jane Foster, Dr. Selvig, Dr. Erskine(created Captain America), Dr. Helen Cho(Avengers Age if Ultron), Hank Pym.

Just so you know the Spiderman movies aren't on Disney plus if that's where you are watching all of these movies. It's because Sony still owns the rights to the Spiderman franchise So if you want to watch them you will have to find something other than Disney plus to watch on.

marycherryofficial

hey thoko, thanks for bringing it up. i changed computers so for a while i stopped doing it cos i lost the count down file, but i've got it again and will put it on videos now

Yes, also was about to chime in with that Disney+ currently doesn't offer Spiderman: Homecoming or it's sequel, Far From Home (avoid looking up the latter, that one is post-Endgame)

This one was such a fun movie! I only saw it once during theatrical release, so it was fun to watch again listening to you react. A few notes I jotted: You're right, Pym wasn't talking about Kursk a country but a city in Russia (old USSR at the time he referenced it). Pym didn't explain the story at the time, but it's from that city an ICBM was launched at the US - the same one he and his wife were on to disarm when she went to the quantum realm. Side note: I always thought Darren looks like a more (less?) evil Jeff Bezos. Fun Fact - Paul Rudd is from Kansas City like me! He graduated high school right around the corner.

Josh Lomax

One of my favorite little behind the scenes things about this movie is that Evangeline Lily initially turned down the roll of Hope until she found out that Paul Rudd was gonna play a superhero and she just had to be apart of it

Yay for Ant Man. Another movie people said was going to absolutely bomb. Even after all the success, people still didn't have confidence in the marvel stuff. I guess after the chaotic Age of Ultron, well, burnout was starting to set in a bit. Plus no one had ever even heard of Ant Man. (Just like no one had heard of Iron Man). That they went with Scott Lang as the hero, and had Hank Pym as the older mentor, was a stroke of genius. Also an easy way to avoid all the... baggage that came with Hank Pym. See, in the comics, Hank was, sort of insecure after a bit. He really felt like he screwed up more often than he succeeded. He went through different phases, and eventually kind of snapped. He had the idea of creating an enemy, to attack the Avengers, that only he could stop. He built in a weakness that only he knew about. See, there was a bad guy named "Elfqueen" and she was fighting the Avengers, but then Captain America got her to calm down and talk, but Pym blasted her from behind, and she went aggressive again. This got Hank in trouble with the group, So like I said, his plan was to build a robot to attack the Avengers, that only he would be able to stop, so that he would look like a hero in front of everyone. Janet Van Dyne (The Wasp), also known as his wife, told him that idea was absolutely insane, so he smacked her, in a super famous character defining panel. The plan didn't even work, and Hank couldn't defeat the robot, Wasp had to do it, and Hank was expelled from the Avengers. He went on to do other stuff after that. But, the point is, in the movie Hank Pym has none of that baggage. ---- Finished the re-watch. I'm not sure I have much to say. It's cool that Hank is so likable. Like I said, there was a while when he was mostly known for domestic abuse, and generally having a nervous breakdown. Also, yeah, in the comics, Hank Pym actually created Ultron. Ultron wants to kill Hank Pym most of all. Civil War is next, and I'm sure that one will have quite a few comments.

I would actually say its not scientist in the MCU and Marvel comics that are evil. It is generally corporations and their CEOs that are viewed as evil bc comics and by extension the MCU have always been political commentary as well as entertainment. Got to admit this movie really highlights why the US prison system sucks, and labeling people as criminals just makes it impossible for them to get normal jobs which means their only option is to go back to committing crimes
