Don Fanucci was a man ahead of his times. He decided at some point that his brand would be white suits and he stuck with it. I've always wondered if he owned many white suits or if he just owned the one and would reuse it until it got too dirty to pass for white. When he's shot he seems to be more worried for his now ruined suit I think :)

A few interesting facts around the movie and those starring in it: Marlon Brando was supposed to be in that flashback in the end. It fell through at the last minute and they had to write around it. If you're interested in watching another Brando film probably his most iconic performance came in A Streetcar Named Desire. The character of Frank Pentangeli was added to script to replace Clemenza. His character was actually supposed to be Clemenza but they couldn't come to terms with the actor that portrayed him in the first film for several reasons. The company Vito starts near the end of the film is Genco Olive Oil. He starts the company with the son of the grocer from the beginning of the film. Genco is the grocer's surname. John Cazale, who played Fredo, only appeared in 5 films in his life. He died young of lung cancer. All 5 of his films either won or were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.

Couple of Marlon Brando Movies that you might like, A Streetcar Named Desire and Apocalypse Now were pretty good performances. Something else that you might have picked up, this movie was a lot about contrast of the father and son. You saw the father build the family up the right way with love and diplomacy and the son bring it all down by being cold and calculated. That's why Tom Hagen and Pantelli were talking about how the family USED to be like the roman empire and now it's not. It's a lot like Star Wars (but flipped) where the prequal trilogy was about the fall of the father and the original was about the rise of the son, they were just able to do it in one movie. It's quite a beautiful story/tragedy. ;-)

And when is the Thor, Captain America, and Avengers reactions gonna come out! I'm so excited for you to get to the Avengers :-D

Oh and just getting a feel of your personality after watching a few movies with you, give Casablanca a watch (not as a reaction if you don't want to), I have a feeling that it would be one of your favorites.

Great reaction, thanks Mary! If you like musicals check out Marlon Brando in Guys and Dolls (1955).

It's a beautiful movie. That scene where a young Vito, Clemenza and Tessio sit around the table eating spaghetti talking business without talking business but Clamenza and Tessio realise that Vito is the new boss. I can watch over and over and over and it never gets old. If you haven't seen it you must watch Good Fellas next. It's a good mafia movie without the epic drama but still stars Robert De Niro
