Darth Maul did survive it's explained in the clone wars series there's a great Obi-Wan and Maul arc in season 5.

Watched the uncut version first. Overall, enjoyed the edited version very much. However, I was surprised you cut your reaction when first seeing Qi’ra after she was separated from Han. You were so happy and even remarked on her beauty. That part was particularly touching to me.

We learn why Han is in debt in episode 4. It's because he was smuggling for Jabba and dumped the cargo before being boarded by the empire.

oh i must've missed that. but i wondered whether we'd see that in this movie, but it went a different way (im glad)

OK Mary, trivia time again. One of the writers goals in this movie was to retrofit an explanation for Han’s claim that the Millenium Falcon completed the Kessel run in under 12 parsecs in A New Hope. A parsec, like a light year, is a measurement of distance, not time, so the original claim made no sense and has been criticised pretty much since the original release in the 70’s. Here, they made a point of discussing the distances along the usual route vs the shortcut he actually took, thus nullifying said criticism.

Oh, additionally, Solo fits between Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One, as evidenced by the fact that the Empire (which was first declared in the senate in Revenge) Is in full power during Solo. You’ll also remember that General Chewie cameo’d toward the end of Revenge with Yoda, so no, He wasn’t always that way, he’s just had a pretty rough trot over the preceding years. As for Maul, well, he’s had an interesting time of things since his bisection, but suffice to say he’s not referred to using the Darth title here, and there are answers to be found if you want them.
