Hey guys! I just wanted to give you a bit of an update. I have been researching ways to try and make filming longer takes possible. My canon 70d films for approx 45 mins, until the battery needs to be changed and there's a 30 min limit on single video files. So I'd have to change the battery anywhere between 2-4x during takes. That means I have to pause the footage, sort my shit out and then replay from that point and it's super annoying.
So I bought a webcam: https://www.tobydealsau.com/en_AU/product/logitech-c922-pro-stream-hd-webcam-black-1.html?cfclick=ad8b241030614c4aa7b281f7f1b10f6a
To help minimise copyright issues, I bought https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/rode-smartlav-smart-device-microphone I think because the mic is more directed at me and less focussed on the sound coming out of my laptop, it should help. ALSO, I cut out a lot because of the heavy truck noises that interrupt and ruin takes. So MAYBE this will help with that (it hasn't arrived yet, I haven't tried it yet)
And because I bought a webcam for my computer, to make my background look a little nicer I bought https://www.ebay.com/itm/ALED-LIGHT-LED-Strips-Light-5050-RGB-5m-Length-150-LED-Multicolor-Remote-Control/293270116927?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
Regardless I can get interrupted at times because I live with 3 other people. But, I'm excited about some of the above changes! Especially the webcam. I've been hearing great things about it and it's such a great and cheap alternative to DSLRs/mirrorless or actual video cams. Those things can be thousands and thousands, whereas this webcam was $180 AUD! I just hope that when it comes, it's great and I'm really happy with it :D There will be an adjustment period of learning to deal with new gear, no doubt, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.
