Animation for this episode is insane. Both really good and kinda terrible. way to many funny faces if you pause it in the right place. amazing episode though XD

This episode is one of my favorites. It felt like a movie almost and was quite cinematic. Kinda nuts that Naruto went to 4 Tails form right from the get-go, Pain really got to him when he put down Hinata. Despite that, we see Naruto still think about what Pain said to him, very intriguing to see that not only his actions caused Naruto to lose sight of what's what. Seeing Naruto in his 8 Tails form is also quite astonishing. I love what Kishomoto has done with it, making him resemble the Kyuubi more and more with each Tail. It really makes you go "oh shit" when you finally see him emerge and it's nothing like what we've seen before.

Too much hype, i even can't say a word how happy i am. Look on his face, he amazed even more, than everyone here. Pure emotions, this is exactly what we came here for! I'm very glad that you are enjoying this anime :)

I don't understand the hate on the animation

When this episode came out, fanbase was divided. Some said it was badly animated (they are clearly wrong). Some said that it was over the top Wille E cayote. And I tend to agree. And others still really liked it. For me, all those funny faces and cartoonish movement is too distracting. Too unserious for an incredibly emotional moment . btw, Naruto's skull and bones form always reminds me of SkullGreymon :). Watched that anime when I was 12 :) way better than Pokemon

I'm one of those that hated the animation. I understand pain is a corpse, but some of those movements were way too exaggerated. Also the water out of nowhere, because it's cooler to fight on water. Not a fan to be honest.

People either hate the animation or love it. What I will say is that animation is not meant to be paused. Lots of hate for animations here come from people who pause, but you pause animations in previous fights and they can look wonky as well. I love the animation of this fight.
