A CERTAIN SCIENTIFIC ACCELERATOR Opening & Ending REACTION

Another really long comment incoming: The neck thing is basically his version of the Jarvis AI (from Iron Man) It’s plugged into his mind and it helps him use his powers. A Certain Scientific Accelerator takes place between The first season of Index and the second. It came out in 2019 while Railgun T came out this year and is still airing new episodes every Friday (in Japan). So Accelerator is only the second newest. As far as which I prefer, I don’t think anyone is going to criticize me for saying that Railgun is the best of the three when it comes to the animes. In terms of the source material, I think I prefer the Index light novels. The Index anime tried to compress 9 (I think) volumes of the light novels into a single 25 episode season and it ended up feeling very rushed. And you can definitely tell something is off about it even if you hadn’t read the light novels. You’ll get arcs that should easily have lasted six episodes told in only two episodes: fights will happen off screen, etc... Overall, however, in both anime form and in source material (manga) form, I think Accelerator is the worst of the three. It basically has no reason to exist. Accelerator is one of the protagonists of Index. Literally all of his development happens ON SCREEN in Index. There’s just no room for a spin-off about him. It’s basically just a reskin of most of the plot points from Index. In other words, I get the feeling the Accelerator spin-off exists solely because Accelerator is a popular character and not because the writers had any actual ideas for an Accelerator based story. This all being said, Accelerator - at least in my opinion - isn’t actually BAD so much as it is not AS good as the rest of the series. If you are interested in watching it, this isn’t as confusing as something like the Fate series. Just watch it in the anime release order (Index, Railgun, Index 2, Railgun S, Index Movie, Index 3, Accel., Railgun T) and if you are at all confused by the chronology, we are a pretty friendly fanbase so just ask.
