Index had a bit of an odd production gap. The first two openings were for season 1 which was made back in 2008. Season 2 (OP 3 & OP 4) were released in 2011. Then, The 3rd season, where you noticed the huge leap in visual quality, was released in 2018! So there was a seven year gap between season 2 and season 3.
