Some of you may have already noticed that Patreon have recently issued a new, more strict set of rules for creators, that can have a heavy impact on adult games developers. Some of the developers have already been banned, or had to change their focus.

Unfortunately these rules are in odds with the intended story and game play of my planned project - Warlock of Lust, as elements such as family relations, monster sex or hard bdsm are now problematic. Enforcement of these rules could undone months of my work on various aspect of the WOL game and I'm now considering my options on how to proceed. I see few options:

1. Rewrite WOL story and game mechanics to remove problematic items, but this would take some time to do

2. Make a less hardcore Patreon version and publish more hardcore version on some different platform

As for now, I'm still in am observation mode with the WOL project. I will wait a little while until the Patreon rules, actions and reactions of other creators will become more clear and I will be able to decide what to do. I will certainly not abandon the WOL project, as I have already a lot of resources for it. Until then, I will continue with Total Seduction as main primary project.

I support option 2, as i don't wish you to tone down anything in your work. And from what i learned, it seems to be choice of many other developers as well, to publish both hardcore and lite versions.

second option maybe only post the games some there else comletly and have patreon just for news

I would also prefer the second option. Maybe you can only switch the "forbidden" game parts visible if the Patreon code is entered ?? Without code the areas of the games are not visible.

Yeah, +1 on the second option

I thought the rules only apply to published screenshots, videos, and texts. Do the patreon administrators care about what content is really in the game?

I vote option 2. That game has so many plans and so much potential I would hate for it to just disappear or not come out as you have intended it to.

Darkfirephoenix

I vote for option 3 : A "patch" or something like that hosted on another platform

I saw someone that had to move their things to a different site because of new rules. While on Patreon, you could still do all the same things, you just can't show or go in depth into the things you're making for WoL. What they did, was now on Patreon, they only show SFW pictures and not mention what they are using th e 3D models for.

mvelesk

it seems they care and it is also formulated in rules as such. that is also the reason why i want to wait and see for a little while

The Umgah

Please don't do the 1.

mvelesk

that is only the last resort, if patreon would go crazy against the creators
