Hi Friends,

in this youtube tutorial I share a fast way, to create environments without going to a terrain generator like word creator. It´s also quite flexible, because you can easily cylce through different seed values to generate all kinds of hill formations.

Create Realistic Landscapes and Digital Nature with Cinema 4D 2024 and Redshift + Lot´s of Assets

Hi Friends, I wanna start a little series of new tutorials based around digital nature, landscapes, beautiful hills, plants, flowers, trees... all of that good stuff. In this lesson I show you how to create a simple setup for some hills and with the power of the seed parameter you can easily cycle through all kinds of different versions until you find your perfect solution. We will also add some nice megascans texture with a beautiful displacement effect. Check out my patreon for more of the good stuff: https://www.patreon.com/3dbonfire And this is me on instagram https://www.instagram.com/markusgonser3d/ Best, Markus

Hiiii, can you teach us how to do the green environment please

3dbonfire

Hey Markus, which version of the Megascans plugin are you using? I have tried the windows custom install (placed v2.1 in plugins folder) as well as installing the plugin via Quixel Bridge. I see we're both running 2023 but I keep getting an error...a material shows up but no RS textures. Thanks in advance!

Hi Markus! I have a question about the texture of stones (this is not in the tutorial, but you show it as a promo, so I think it's okay to ask). The texture "ground with rocks" from Bridge is designed for a one-meter-by-one-meter stretch of ground. Maybe a bit larger, but definitely not for a landscape in hundreds of meters. When applying and replicating this texture, the tiles are very noticeable. (I'm doing this in Octane.) How do you deal with this? Thank you!

Received an answer from Quixel in case anyone else experiences this issue: 1) Change your Redshift release date to an earlier version (not sure which version will work - perhaps Markus could tell us which release he's using?)

Yeah I think there are different kind of textures. I think , some of them are scanned from a larger area stones for example, so its not that noticable when you tile them. But of course this tile-ing issue is always a little problem to solve
