Well, damn... me and my big mouth... I saw a Japanese translator looking for a paid job, so I approached him with only the intention to ask around, but now it looks like the talk is proceeding towards actually hiring him for the job. What do you guys think I should do? Think of this as an investment and hire him to translate a Japanese Gender Bender series at the rate of 1 chapter per week?

I can only afford 4-5 chapters per month at the rate he's asking, which is a very reasonable rate at $20 for an average chapter of 4,000 characters. And this investment comes directly from my own pocket with no support from Patrons (yet).

P.S. If we do hire him, I'll ask him to translate the synopsis of several Japanese Gender Bender series which looked interesting and have you guys vote which one to pick up.

Sounds interesting, but I like what you're doing right now, but that's my opinion, but if you want to do it I'm all for it. Hmm buuuut if it is yuri or the like i wouldn't mind putting in some money in advance to help pay for some in the beginning.... *sweat*

I'll talk it over with the translator and see how it goes. But for now, it seems like I've somehow convinced him that going by pay per view model is the better choice~ But of course, with the pay per view model, it means I have no right to choose which novels he'll translate...
