Follow up from the last Status Update:

Update on Our Progress and Challenges:

First, let's talk about Demon Sword Maiden and the inevitable delays caused by the unfortunate circumstances of our translators:

  • Yuki's Recovery: Yuki is still on the path to recovery from a spine injury. They've recently been advised to remove their brace for limited periods and start pool exercises, which means their capacity to contribute remains limited for now.

  • LazyButAmbitious's Busy Schedule: In the midst of their final college semester, Lazy is finding less time than anticipated for translation, contributing to delays.

  • Keissen Stepping Up: Thankfully, Keissen has doubled their efforts, taking on additional chapters to help keep us on track.

To address the backlog, I’ve personally taken on the task of translating 10 chapters—2 from January and 8 from March’s batch. This effort has allowed us to catch up significantly.

Job and Financial Update:

I've yet to receive an update from WuxiaWorld about their recruitment process, but I've secured a part-time job in the meantime. The workload is nearly identical to that of an official WuxiaWorld translator, albeit the compensation is more than 50% lower. Despite this, I see the position as an invaluable opportunity to refine my skills while supplementing my income, which is particularly important as I'm currently in a tight financial situation. The pay might not be substantial, but it's sufficient for keeping food on the table, and that's my priority right now. I plan to continue with this job until I receive a response from WuxiaWorld.

Finding a New Routine:

Finally, regarding the weekly update, while I still won't be able to provide regular update as usual, I've started to find a rhythm that allows for a more balanced schedule:

  • Tuesday: Translate 5 chapters for official work, Edit 1 chapter of Demon Sword Maiden, Edit 2 chapters of Vampire Princess.

  • Wednesday: Translate 5 chapters for official work, Edit 1 chapter of Demon Sword Maiden, Edit 3 chapters of Transcendent

  • Thursday: Translate 5 chapters for official work, Edit 1 chapter of Demon Sword Maiden, Proofread as many chapters from a selection from one of the 12 other novels we have

  • Friday: Translate 5 chapters for official work, Edit 1 chapter of Demon Sword Maiden, Proofread as many chapters from a selection from one of the 12 other novels we have

  • Saturday to Monday: Reserved for rest

Juggling the translation of 5 chapters daily while trying to maintain all the novels on Re:Library is a lot of work, but on the flip side, I get three days of rest each week. This approach allows me to translate 20 chapters a week, meeting a 60-chapter monthly quota in just three weeks, so if I get burned out, I can take an entire week off at month's end if needed.

And let’s be honest, the burnout is real. So, I’ve decided it’s time for some well-deserved downtime. Next week, I’m setting aside all the work and taking a break.

Gratitude for Your Support:

Thank you for sticking with us through this lengthy update. Your understanding and support during these challenging times are incredibly valued.

Just remember to take care of yourself, you come first and the novels second. Also when Yuki recovers and if LazyButAmbitious get more time by chance will we see more chapters for The Self-cultivation After Becoming A Villain Girl?

That will be difficult, even disregarding Yuki and Lazy's availability, I've just started working on my part-time job, which will further impact my ability to work on The Villainess' Guide.
