I don't really know if this is cheating but I don't care. I call it efficient. I need to tell this story to the best of my ability and I won't let impossible hurdles like this background hold me back.

I am modeling this background in Blender to use in the next comic page. As previously stated, the next page is another non-Curtis page but it will be the last non-Curtis page. I'm trying to get through it as fast as I can because I recognize people are here for TF.

EDIT: This page taught me a lot. For one: texture is important. Also that I have a strong distaste for drawing urban settings and cars...

No such thing as cheating in art, my friend! This is the kind of stuff I was taught to do in school. What matters is that you do what you need to do to tell the story you want to tell and make the art you need to make.

Wow, I didn't know that you are very good in 3D modelling! Keep it up!

I wouldn’t call this cheating. It’s efficient. Honestly, if you’re gonna be making a lot more art in Curtis’ apartment, I would suggest laying out the entire apartment room. The kitchen only had some crazy geometry. It might be an hefty investment, but in the long run I’m sure it’ll benefit you. You know, work smarter, not harder. 😁👍

The apartment is modeled and i used the model for most of the wide shots. I'm glad it's not crazy super obvious. I dont want the background to be a distraction for being an obvious 3D render.

Really?! O_o Honestly, I didn't think about that, but it really looks like that apartment have been hand drawn, without modelling 😵👍👍

Cheating?! You literally did more work to improve the quality of your art over just sketching out the perspective normally. It's so endearing how humble you are, but you should give yourself more credit sometimes. You're very talented.
