Hello.

I was planning on another elements progress update today, because I made massive progress this week.

(this is planned to be the final preview/progress/feedback thread on the animations and sprite base-- after this I'm on schedule to jam out the individual sprites!)

But my mom had trouble with her vehicle and I spent most of the afternoon driving her, and then dropping her off to pick up her car at the shop. So I didn't have the time I planned to write up this morning's post.

No big deal; the content is still here-- I just want to put a good post together for you.

These progress posts take quite a bit of time to export all the images and write up the details (though honestly I find it useful to help organize my thoughts and plans)-- so I'm gonna put it together tonight and schedule it for tomorrow/Saturday morning.

BUT I'm not gonna leave you hanging: here are the major headlines for tomorrow's update, where I'll give you more details and more preview images:

1. Head/hair layers separated, updated. Finalized my decision on how these will work.

2. Color Palette Stuff

3. Bow and Arrow animations are in!!!

Here's a quick image with some heads and color palettes. I'll explain it in more detail in tomorrow's post:

Hope that's cool with you. Thanks.

The heads look great, absolutely perfect use of layering. In code, we can remove the hair for helmets and such. Awesome!

The customisation approach looks really cool. Have you thought about doing this with monsters too?
