Hello! I hope that you find today's release to be useful. :)

In order to study up on some pixel greats and get some ideas and inspiration for upcoming assets, I've recently been playing some classic SNES RPGs. This morning I finished Final Fantasy 6. This grass texture is inspired by the kind of texture from that era of games, notably FF6 and Chrono Trigger.

I released the initial tiles earlier this week (these White Cliff tiles came with the base grass tiles).

I revisited that grass texture last night while I was working on some new trees and forest canopy tiles. I still have a long way to go with the tree canopy: it's a complicated tileset that's turning out to be more work than I'd initially planned for. So I put that aside for the time being in order to have this set for you today: today's release is an expanded new terrain sheet based on the new grass texture, and also includes a new earth/dirt tile.

There are two color variations. One of these colors will be used for the new forest set. The other is based on the grass terrain that I released earlier this week.

These sheets are arranged in a regular grid. (the top row of tiles on the sheet is the original Time Fantasy grass tile, re-colored using the grass colors.)

If you'e using RPG Maker, the autotile in the bottom-right of the sheet is in an RPGMaker format. Simply copy that set into an "A2" sheet, and it should work nicely.

Also, I've updated the sheets from the previous release: the RPGMaker-formatted sheets for the white cliffs now include the new grass tiles. You can download them here:

This grass is more subtle and less stylized than the original Time Fantasy grass-- it's an example of how my art has evolved since the first release, and a look into the direction that things are going in the future. Let me know what you think!

I'll revisit some more trees and forest canopy stuff this weekend-- hopefully I'll have something exciting for you next week. See you then!

Thanks
