This year has gone by really quickly... it feels like just yesterday that I put together the last one of these year-end posts. I guess time flies when you're being productive...

This is the third year of this patreon. You can find the previous year-end threads here: 2017 and 2018. In each one of these posts, I like to review some of my favorite releases from through year. I'll try to come up with a top five graphics from among the patron releases (major releases excluded)-- posts that stand out for one reason or another. Let's recap some of my top highlights from 2019.

(If you don't want to read to the end, you can grab the big download here: 2019 Year-End Patron Bundle)

2019 Patron Release Highlights

Not in any particular order.

Steam Train Tiles

The train set was a popular patron request, and it came out as a large tile add-on, way bigger than a normal release. These train tiles (and the wagon tiles that I mention later on) were the "big releases" of the summer this year-- a couple of significant tile add-on releases for patrons-- in between the larger asset pack releases.

I'll likely include these train tiles (and expanding on them) as part of the upcoming steampunk set, which has been one of the most requested sets for a while now-- I'll be working on that in the first quarter of 2020.

Four-Directional Attack Bases

Another of the most-requested releases. Everybody seems to want full action combat sprites! While it's not realistic for every character (Time Fantasy is just too big, and the style wasn't designed with this kinds of gameplay in mind)-- there was so much demand for these that I put together these animation bases.

While the Time Fantasy characters aren't really best suited to this sort of action combat, I do want to revisit the idea in the upcoming year...

Traveller's Wagons

Similar to the train tiles mentioned above, these wagons were one of the "big" patron releases that I worked on this summer. It started as a simple popular request, and then I kept expanding on the idea.

The final add-on sheet is massive, with a lot of variety-- so big that RPG Maker users would need to crop the individual wagons they wanted to use, because all of them together wouldn't fit on a single tileset sheet!

Fishmonger Stall Tiles

I like this one because it started as a simple offhand suggestion in a discord chat-- just a fish and maybe a net. I ended up running with the idea, and I just kept coming up with more variations to the tileset. In the end, it turned out to be pretty big for a regular patreon release. It ended up being one of the more popular add-ons, probably because of the detail and the variety in the set.

Faces Beta Releases

I know, I know... I still owe you guys the full face collection!

In the meantime, I decided to share these beta faces with you. I wasn't happy with them (at all!) and I'm working on redoing them for a proper release (as shown in the linked post)-- but the release of the ugly beta version is a big step. Getting something released-- even if it's not up to my usual quality standards.

(Most of these graphics are included in the 2019 bundle linked at the beginning and end of this post. The four-directional sprite bases and the faces beta are not included in that end-of-year bundle .zip, because their original releases were special packages in .zip files. They should be downloadable from the posts linked above. If any downloads don't work, message me.)

2019 Major Releases

In addition to the constant smaller releases every week on this patreon page, 2019 was a big year for larger asset pack releases too...

Omega Modern

This one doesn't even feel like it was this year, because I'd done most of the work for it in late 2017-- but I guess technically it was released this January, to start off 2019 with something huge.

Future Fantasy

This one was really the first big release of this year, something that I worked on in late 2018 and finished up in 2019. It's a massive addition to Time Fantasy, and the reception has been very positive. It was a lot of fun taking the series into the sci-fi genre! It opened up a lot of new possibilities for your games.

NPC Animations Pack

This one was put together from a bunch of patron suggestions. While technically this is a small expansion pack, I think that it would have a really huge impact on a game. The idea of unique special animations for NPCs really appeals to me-- it's the kind of thing that takes a game to the next level by making the world come to life. I hope that you got a lot of use out of these sprite animations!

Atlantis Tileset

Giant Tree Tileset

This summer, I came up with the idea for an "exotic lands" expansion pack, which would be composed of three small tilesets. The idea was based on the successful "Ruined Dungeons" expansion from last year, which had three different dungeon themes...

But of course-- once I got started, the set kept growing and growing! I had the idea to split up the set into individual releases, and the patrons overwhelmingly supports the decision. As a result, we had two back-to-back free tileset releases: Atlantis and the Giant Tree. And the third set was blown up into a major expansion pack...

Time Fantasy: Japan

This set was never intended to be a full major release, but I kept coming up with more and more ideas-- and of course, not all of the ideas were mine. Patron suggestions were important as well, and this expansion ended up becoming a major release: not just for this year, but as a key expansion to the Time Fantasy series.

I put a lot into this one, and really pushed myself to crunch to release is before the end of October-- and it turned out to be the right decision, as this is one of the sets that I'm the most proud of.

1000+ Icons Complete Set

And finally, the icon set! This one is special to me because it's one that was slowly assembled over the course of the past year or two-- and mostly from patron requests! I'm very proud to be able to release this complete set to finish off the year: it's the perfect collection to cap off a hugely productive 2019!

This is the part where I start to get a bit sappy... going on about how much I appreciate your support and I can't thank you enough... how I'm able to live out my dream career and how fulfilling it is for me to be able to provide you with these graphics, how amazing it is that this patreon has had so much success since I first started it in 2017...

But you're not here for that-- you want the download! LOL-- this .zip file includes every graphics that was released this year as a regular patron release (ecept the icon releases, since they were eventually compiled into the full icon set, which will always be available for patrons):

 ------

So far... there have been 263 posts tagged "graphics" -- that means that since this patreon has started, I've made 263 new asset releases for patrons! That's something that we can be proud of! It's been a crazy three years.

Looking forward to more in 2020... it's going to be a BIG ONE. I have a lot planned-- see you soon!

Let me know what were your favorite releases this year!

(Really-- share your favorites here in the comments. It's not just for the sake of conversation LOL-- This information helps me decide what to release in the future, what kinds of things are the most popular and useful for patrons-- thanks!)

Have a fun safe New Year's Eve/Day!

I'll be back soon with the new patron request thread for January!

Thanks!

I love the Beast Tribes, Elf Sprites, and Dwarf Sprites. These really allow me to create the world I'm imagining. SV sets also bring the world to life in unique ways that you just can't get elsewhere. Please keep up the amazing work and I have every reason to think I'll continue the support!

My favorite release was Omega Modern. Hoping to see some additional graphical support for it 2020!
